One brand I’ve always been curious about but never tried is NYX. Especially their Butter Glosses looked really good to me. Luckily for me I won a giveaway a while ago and won one! Today I’ll be reviewing it for you guys. If you’re interested, keep on reading!
The NYX Butter Gloss comes in a small tube. The tube is in the same color as the lipgloss. I really like that about it. If you have more of them it’s really easy to find the one you’re looking for this way. Another thing I like about that is that it’s a pretty color. I love the color of the lipgloss, so the packaging looks really good to me too.
On the front of the tube it says something about the product and obviously what it is and by which brand. I feel like the NYX packagings are always pretty cute. I love their logo and the little heart underneath it a lot!
The color I have is called “BLG11 Maple Blondie” which is a very pretty pinky shade. The thing I like about it is that it’s not super bright, but not boring as well. It has something special to it. It really looks like rich strawberry cream to me.
The thing I like about this gloss is that there is no shimmer in it. I’m not a big fan of shimmery lipglosses so no shimmer is always a plus.
The gloss itself is pretty pigmented. It’s not like a liquid lipstick, but it’s also not as thin as a regular lipgloss. It’s a bit in between I guess. I really love the texture. It’s not too sticky, it’s soft and it’s creamy. I really like the look of it on the lips as well.
Another thing I like about it is that it lasts pretty long. That is one of the most important things when it comes to lipglosses to me. I normally prefer lipsticks, but I have to say that I kind of like this gloss better than some of my lipsticks. It’s just a lot less heavy and it feels a lot nicer on the lips to be completely honest with you.
Something else I like about it is that it doesn’t leave the lips feeling crunchy or weird at all. I feel like some lipglosses do that, and that’s obviously not nice. I feel like this gloss actually kind of moisturises my lips in some kind of way. Not enough to say you don’t ever need a lipbalm any more if you use this stuff, but it’s pretty great.
Overall I have to say that I’m pretty impressed. I didn’t expect that I would actually ever prefer a lipgloss over a lipstick, but this one proved me wrong. I feel like this gloss is perfect for those of you that don’t like the stickiness and do actually want to see some color when you’re using a lipgloss.
The NYX Butter Gloss is available at Douglas for €6,99.
I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you’ve ever tried a NYX Butter Gloss and what your opinion on it is!
