I think everyone who has ever read about French beauty knows this famous oil, the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. I have read a ton of reviews about it and lot’s of other great stuff. Because I’ve never really been that into oils I never really intended to buy it, let alone fall in love with it. But here I am, I bought it and today I’m going to let you guys know whether I fell in love with it or not. If you’re interested in finding out whether this famous oil is as amazing as it sounds or not, make sure you continue reading!
Okay, let’s start off by discussing this packaging. The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse comes in a glass bottle, which looks a lot like a regular perfume bottle. It even has a little spray thingy on top which I think is amazing. Overall the design of the packaging is relatively simple, but it’s elegant and that’s part of why I love it. I also love the gold detailing and I love the size of it. It’s just perfect.
While looking for this bad boy I did come across a few different versions of it. I wasn’t sure whether the only difference was the packaging of if the actual product was different too, but I decided to go for the version I knew because otherwise it might interfere with my opinion and with my comparison to other peoples reviews. Also because I just wanted this one.

So, let’s take a look at the back of the bottle. Well, at the card they put on the back. When I bought it I wasn’t sure what this actually was and what it was meant to do. I had read a lot of things about it, but I just didn’t fully understand the purpose of this product. According to the back of the bottle it’s a multi-purpose dry oil, so you can use it for different things. You can use it on your face, on your body and in your hair, so basically all over your body. After that the purpose of this product got a lot more clear for me and I started to understand why I was so confused about the purpose to begin with.
On the back it says this is an all in one product that keeps the skin nourished, smoothed and evened. It will keep your hair soft and shiny. It also has demonstrated its antioxidants properties and it’s free of silicones and mineral oils. Those last two things make me really happy.
As some of you might know I can’t use silicones in my hair, so it’s great this is silicone free because it allowed me to actually use it in my hair. The mineral oil part makes me happy because lately I have discovered that mineral oils can be quite bad for your skin and that made me want to stay away from them.
Moving on. I want to discuss this product by each of its purposes, one by one. My favourite purpose for this product is as a body oil. Particularly in places my skin tends to get very dry like my elbows and knees. Oils are obviously very hydrating so this is the perfect product to use to keep those areas hydrated and soft. This oil also has a really, really pleasant scent so it keeps my skin smelling really amazing too. I’m a big fan of using this as a body oil!
Moving on to the second purpose: a face oil. Because I have reasonably oily skin it’s not something I love to do. But I have to say, I expected it to be worse. Because it’s a dry oil it doesn’t feel as oily and greasy as a regular oil would and that helps a lot. It also doesn’t feel heavy or wet so even for people with oily skin this doesn’t feel too bad on the skin.
Even though it doesn’t feel that bad, it’s not something I’d use on a daily basis on my face because I just think it’s a little too much. However, when I feel like my skin can use some hydration, I always gravitate to this oil because it does work really, really well for me.
Moving on to the last purpose: my hair. Just like my skin, my hair tends to get pretty greasy pretty quickly. Therefore I was quite hesitant when it comes to putting this oil inside my hair. And you guys, I wish I hadn’t tried it. When I put it in my hair, expecting it to look gorgeous and smooth, it turned out to be way too heavy for my hair. I do think that I might have used too much and that that’s why it turned out this bad, but my hair got so greasy it just looked wet. It looked absolutely horrible.
Again, I totally think it’s my own fault because I just used too much product, but if you have very fine and greasy hair, you might want to stay away or just be really careful with this product.
Even though I did have a bad experience with using it in my hair, I do think it’s a great product. Especially for your body. It smells really good, it makes my skin feel really soft and hydrated and I like that it’s free of mineral oil and silicones. I’m really glad I decided to give it a chance and I highly recommend giving it a try if you want to try out a dry oil as well!
Thank you guys so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know what you think of using oil on your body!
XOXO, Nicole.
