For pretty much as long as I can remember I’m blind as a bat. For the longest time I didn’t want to admit it because I didn’t want glasses but when I turned 13 I realised I had to take action and I got contacts. After a wearing them for a while I ended up getting glasses as well for those days my contacts were irritating and for in the mornings and at night. End of story is that I’ve been wearing those glasses for over 6 years now and now I decided it was time to get me some new ones. Today I’m going to show you guys which ones I got. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading!
The glasses I got are from Polette.com. This is an international company that makes glasses with both prescription and fashion glasses for a great price. The reason why they are so affordable is because the glasses come straight from the fabric and there are no parties in between that want to earn money off of your glasses as well.
The glasses I ended up getting are the Halsed glasses in the turtle skin colour. It’s also available in black and brown. I chose these glases because they are very modern, classy and they just match my style. I really like the colour of it because it isn’t too harsh and it isn’t too plain.
Along with the glasses I bought this brown case. It’s steady, it’s pretty and it keeps your glasses from getting scratches on it. The glasses also came with this little towel to clean it every once in a while, so that’s nice as well.
For those of you who are not familiar with Polette I will explain the process briefly: if you are interested in getting glasses you can search for any frame you want. Choose the one you like and click on it. When you click on it you can decide what kind of glasses you want: fashion (without corrective), simple glasses (corrective) or more advanced glasses. The fashion glasses are free and the prices of actual glasses start at €10,-.
Than when you have decided what kind of glasses you want you can choose whether or not you want your glasses to be tinted or not and you can decide what colour you want.
After that you just fill out a form with your eye-information (if you don’t have that go to a optician and get your eyes tested and ask for the results) and that’s it.
And this is what they look like on me. I’m really happy with these glasses. I like that they’re not too big but they are big. I also really like the colour and I like that not all of the glass is covered in the print but just the top.
Even though these glasses aren’t expensive the quality is impressive. I have -3 and -2.5 (so I really don’t see a thing when I don’t wear glasses) and these glasses make my vision perfect. The glasses feel steady and strong and they’re comfortable to wear. I absolutely love them!
In total I paid about 45 Euro’s for the glasses and the case and that’s incredibly affordable for glasses. I like how Polette makes it possible for everyone to get glasses, whether you have a big budget or not and it allows you to have more than one pair of glasses so you can switch it up from time to time. I’m very impressed by their company and I’m sure I’ll order glasses from them again if I ever need new ones!
And that concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know how you like these glasses!
XOXO, Nicole.
