O my lord guys: I bought a Dior blush! I know I’ve been getting a little out of hand lately on the shopping department but oh my, how stunning is this?! I was in the mood to treat myself because I passed all my exams and then I came across this beauty. I immediately decided to order it and today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about it, make sure you continue reading!
First off: the packaging. Since it’s Dior I did expect a very luxurious looking packaging and that’s exactly what this is. The box itself is made out of a classic shiny dark blue colour like all Dior packagings are and it has Dior written on the front. When you open up the box you will find a big mirror, the blush and a small little brush. Usually those brushes go straight into the trashcan, but since this one feels reasonably good, I decided to keep it.
As finishing touch this blush comes with a little suede looking sleeve that protects you blush from getting damaged and obviously it also adds a luxurious feel to it. I really like those kinds of things!
Onto the blush itself. How stunning is it. I mean I always wanted to buy a Dior blush, but I could have never imagined I would actually end up getting one, stand alone a blush from their holiday collection. I know it might sound dumb but for me that’s really a (beauty) dream come true. I love it.
Back to the product: it look stunning. The blush is rectangular sized and has rounded edged. At the bottom of the powder it says Dior and the rest of the powder is decorated with little sequins.
The Dior Splendor 2016 blush comes in just one shade (at least I guess that’s the case). I believe that the shade has no name, since it’s the only shade available and Dior just isn’t a brand like that, but that’s totally okay. Even though the blush might come off as quite a pinky tone, I would describe the colour as a warm apricot. It definitely has pink tones to it, but it’s mainly apricot.
The thing that makes this blush so special is that it has very few shimmers to it. It’s not overwhelming at all and barely noticeable, but it does add something to the finished look. It’s very hard to describe what it is, but I hope the pictures will make clear what I’m trying to say here.
Even though it was practically impossible to capture the blush on camera (once applied), I still decided to add in the pictures. The pictures of my face are very unclear and just terrible because of the horrible lighting and the fact that I had very little time, but in real life it will definitely show up.
The thing that I like about this blush is that it isn’t too out there. It isn’t a blush you’d easily go overboard with. If you’re wearing this blush you don’t have to worry about picking up a little too much on your brush because it won’t look way too intense, it will actually look really pretty.
This blush just adds a very natural looking flush to the skin. It’s clear that there’s something special about your face, but you won’t be able to tell it’s the blush. I think that’s the most perfect look you could go for in makeup.
I almost forgot to mention it, but because it’s so important to me I still wanted to add it in, so here you go. The most outstanding and special thing that made me decide this blush was 100% worth the incredible amount of money is the texture. I literally have never felt a makeup product that felt the same way as this blush.
It’s such a rich and satiny texture. It feels so soft and sooth. Your finger will glide over the powder like it’s a satin bed sheet. It’s just amazing. Because of that it also applies very evenly and smoothly and it therefore prevents blotchiness and streakiness, which is always a big fat plus.
Overall I’m just obsessed with this blush, literally obsessed. It’s the very best product I have ever touched in my life and it looks absolutely stunning on the skin and it’s just a whole new level of makeup. I’m really glad I got the chance to buy this blush and I’m definitely going to invest in some more Dior blushes because I’m hooked now!
The Dior Splendor Blush is available at Douglas and Ici Paris XL for €47,65.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know if you have any experience with Dior blushes and if so let me know whether or not you think they’re worth the money!
XOXO, Nicole
Those sequins look so stunning, I guess this is definitely worth the money. I would be so scared the blush would break, especially when I look at the third picture, oh my! X
