Nars is by far one of the best makeup brands ever. I really do love their products a lot. About a year ago I tried my first ever Nars eyeshadow palette, the And God Created The Women Palette. I really fell in love with the shadows in that palette and especially the quality of them. It was beyond amazing. So, a while ago when I came across this Nars x Erdem Eyeshadow Palette I was sure I needed to get this as well. This one is even more special since it’s from a collaboration. Somehow I missed it when it got launched, but I managed to get my hands on it anyway. So, long story short, today I’m reviewing this Nars x Erdem Eyeshadow Palette and if you want to read about that, make sure you continue reading this post!
Okay let’s start off by talking about the most amazing thing about this palette: the looks of it. I mean look at it. I do really like the way Nars packagings look in general, but this is a whole other level you guys. Because this palette is from a special collab collection they spiced it up a little bit. They always do, but this time they did it big. Instead of your typical black packaging, this palette comes in a baby blue coloured packaging. The way the material feels is the same, it still has that really nice rubbery feeling to it. I don’t know why I like that so much, it sounds weird now I’m typing it out, but I like it. And I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in that. Right?
Anyway, the palette is slim and kind of ‘long’ I guess. It’s not too big but then again it only comes with six shades so that’s a pretty solid reason why. On the inside of the lid is a full sized mirror, which comes in really handy, and to protect the mirror from getting eyeshadow on it there’s this stunningly designed cover. Normally this is just a piece of plastic, but in this case it’s a piece of plastic with flowers all over it.
Even though I’m really in love with the way this palette looks and all, I do have on thing I don’t like about it. And that is the fact that it’s impossible to open the packaging the normal way. The only way I can get it to open is by pulling on the side really hard. I mean, why?! It’s such a struggle.

Having discussed the packaging in way too much detail, let’s quickly move on to talking about the eyeshadows that come in this palette. I have to be honest and tell you guys that the first time I saw this palette I wasn’t really that attracted to it. I mean with the blue and all, the colour story didn’t look that appealing to me. It made me think that I wasn’t going to use most of this palette. But on the day I bought it I somehow saw it in a different light. I realised that if you take away the blue, these are all shades I would actually use on a daily basis. And that’s what made me decide to buy it.
So, let’s go through the shades. The first shade you get is called Mythios and it’s a shimmering ivory shade. It’s super light and very icy. I do really like to use this shade to highlight my browbone and inner corner. It really lights up those areas. Next to that is my favourite shade out of the six, which is called Thistle. Thistle is a metallic mink colour. And for those of you who don’t know what that means (like me), it’s a brownish grey colour with a metallic sheen to it. The last shade in the top row is called Flourish and it’s a shimmering steel blue. Even though I have never and will probably never wear blue, I do think it’s a very stunning colour. It’s not one of those horrific shades of blue. I really think you can make this shade work if you know what you’re doing. Or if you’re just good with blue eyeshadow. Not judging here.
Okay, moving on to the bottom row. The first shade there is called Belladonna and it’s the only matte shade in the palette. It’s soft brown and a real inbetween colour. It’s not as light as I like my transition shade to be, but it’s not as dark as I want my crease colour to be either. However, I do like starting to build my crease colour with it. It’s a great first step. Then we have Daydream, which is a shimmering copper shade. This seems to be another gorgeous shade to use all over the lid if you ask me. The last shade is another big favourite of mine and it’s a satin mulberry shade called Holly Hock. I think it really brings out my brown eyes and I love using it in the crease along with the brown shade.
I have tried a Nars eyeshadow palette before, the And God Created The Women Palette, so I knew that the quality of this palette was going to be great. However, I didn’t expect this. I don’t think that the swatches show how amazing this palette is. Mainly because it’s really hard to take a proper picture of your own arm with a 50 mm lens. But anyway, I think the picture of the look I created with this palette does do this palette justice. I am so flippin’ impressed by the quality of these shadows. I’m not lying when I say that quality and formula wise, these are the very best eyeshadows I have ever used in my entire life.
The formula on these shadows is so rich and creamy. You can feel that it’s a proper product. It picks up nicely, it’s not powdery and you don’t have to worry about fall-out either. Then, when you apply them, they go on so super smoothly. They are intense after the first application so there’s no need to build it up and that makes them quick. When it comes to blending they are your friend as well. They blend so seamlessly and so perfectly but they don’t blend ‘away’, and that’s really important to me.
But I guess that my favourite thing about this palette is the finish of the shadows. I have a ton of shimmery and metallic shadows, but I have never seen anything like this. This sheen is so pretty and perfect and smooth. And it stays that way all day long. I’m so in love with that!
You guys, I still remember the time I thought this palette wasn’t going to be for me and now it’s by far my favourite. I love this palette so much. I think it looks absolutely stunning and my lord, the quality is amazing. This palette has the most stunning eyeshadows in terms of shades but also quality. The formula is so rich and creamy and these shadows are incredibly easy to work with. In addition to that I think that the sheen they have is just the best I’ve ever seen and all in all, it’s my go to right now. I love this!
With that being said I think I’ve covered everything I wanted to. Thank you so much for reading today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it, and be sure to let me know what you think of this palette!
