All About Nars: My Nars Collection & Brand Favourites

18/10/2017

I‘ve always loved the brand Nars. From the day I discovered its existence until now I just absolutely adore it. The packagings are stunning, the brand just screams luxury and I love the quality of their products. Throughout the years I’ve collected a few of their products and since I’m such a big fan of Nars I decided it might be fun to share my Nars collection with you guys and talk about which products I love the most and which were a little disappointing. So, if you’re interested in reading about that make sure you continue reading!

The first time I ordered Nars I went a little crazy. I believe I actually bought four products in one sitting. The first product I got back then is this gorgeous blush. I always knew that my first ever Nars product was going to be a blush since their blushes are just so iconic and beautiful. It was hard for me to choose a shade since I didn’t just want to go for Orgasm, I wanted something more unique.

I ended up buying this blush called Isadora. It’s from the Sarah Moon collection which is actually pretty amazing. When I first got it I wasn’t actually sure whether I was happy with the colour choice I made because the first application was a little crazy, but once I learned what’s the best way to apply it I fell in love with it and I’m still in love with it today. It’s just gorgeous!

I believe this was the second Nars product I bought, it’s another cult classic which is pretty much the reason why I bought it. I’m talking about the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. I have never heard anything negative about this product, it seems to be everybody’s favourite and since it does come in a shade that is light enough to actually match my skin tone I decided to just go for it.

And even though I wanted to be head over heals with this foundation I have a love-hate relationship with it. After all this time I’m still not completely sure whether I love it or not. Some days it looks absolutely terrible on my skin, but some days it looks phenomenal. Overall I can’t say it’s a bad foundation but it’s not a very reliable one for me which is why I don’t use it as much as I hoped.

Along with the cult favourite Nars Sheer Glow Foundation I bought the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, another Nars product everybody in the entire world seems to love. I don’t know why but I had higher hopes for the concealer and luckily this time I wasn’t disappointed. The concealer comes in a ton of shades which is a big plus for me, and it just has an amazing texture. The concealer is liquid but creamy at the same time. It’s a very unique and almost impossible combination, but it really works and I love the way it looks on my skin personally.

Sadly this concealer doesn’t last very long. I feel like I ran out of it so quickly even though I don’t use a ton of concealer. At least not as much as some Instagram girls do. But even though a tube of this magic cream doesn’t last you that long, it’s totally worth it because it is definitely one of my favourite concealers so far. I really have to go ahead and repurchase it!

Moving on to a little makeup set. I actually got this for Christmas from my mom which makes it even more special. This is the Nars And God Created The Women palette and it comes with an eyeshadow palette with six different eyeshadow shades, a little brush and a travel size Nars Pro Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. I actually really like this eyeshadow base even though I didn’t expect to and the quality of the brush is very impressive as well.

However, the palette really is the star of this little set. It might seem like a pretty basic, maybe even a little bit boring palette but it’s so versatile and so perfect for everyday wear. I’ve worn this so much already, I really have to remind myself that I also have other palettes in my collection that are worth using.

The thing I love so much about the palette is how pigmented the shadows are, how rich. You don’t have to build these shadows to get them to look intense, they just do right away. I absolutely love it!

Next up are two pretty recent purchases. Well, it has been in my collection for over two months by the time you’re reading this, but when I’m writing this post it’s still fairly new to my collection. This is a blush from the Pierre Hardy collection. It’s a pretty old collection so it’s not available anymore, but I got mine off of Brigette’s Boutique which is a webshop where they sell products from old limited editions and products that come in damaged boxes and are therefore not sellable anymore.

I have to say that this Nars x Pierre Hardy blush (in the shade Boys Don’t Cry) is a pretty extreme one. It’s quite bright and definitely a product you should use with a very light hand. However, if you do so this looks absolutely stunning on the cheeks. It adds such a pretty pinky tone to them, I absolutely adore the way it looks. Aside from that I also really like how well these Nars blushes stay in place, it’s incredible!

My last Nars product is this highlighter. I’ve never been that into highlighter, at least not as into highlighter as most people are nowadays, but this one really spoke to me. From the moment I saw it I knew it was going to be mine very soon. This is the Nars Illuminating Powder or just Highlighter in Hot Sand. I had never heard of it before I bought it, but it is incredible. This is the most perfect everyday highlighter. The shade is so versatile and I think it looks absolutely stunning on literally all skin tones.

My favourite thing about this highlighter is that it’s intense enough to show up and really create that glowy look with, but it’s not too extreme. It doesn’t turn your cheekbone into a mirror if you get what I mean. And for me that’s great. What’s great too is that you can really build it up so if you do want it to be more intense you definitely can get it there!

Nars Illuminating Powder in Hot Sand – €26,95

Overall I really love my Nars products and the only dud so far is the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. So far my collection mainly exists out of base makeup, which I absolutely adore, but I also really like the quality of the eyeshadow palette. If I had to choose one favourite out of all these products I would probably go for the Nars And God Created The Women palette, followed by the Hot Sand highlighter and the Radiant Creamy concealer.

And that concludes my all about Nars post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which Nars product is your favourite and which one you’d recommend to me!
