My New Favourite Shoes: Dr. Martens Pascal

27/04/2019

For the longest time I’ve been meaning to buy a pair of Dr. Martens. I mean, I know everyone has them already and they’re very basic these days, but look at them. Aren’t they just the prettiest boots on earth?! And you can combine them in so many ways. With a cute outfit, with an edgy outfit, with a normal outfit. They go with everything. Well, that was enough to convince me and make me buy them. Because of the high price tag it did take me some time to finally do it, but I did it and I can tell you: it was the best choice I have ever made! Because I’m so excited about them, I’m going to tell you guys everything about these adorable Dr. Martens. Keep on reading!

The Dr. Martens that I bought are called the 1460 Pascal 8 Eye Boot. It’s the classic version with soft leather. The boot looks very classic. It has black laces and the wholes through which the laces go, are black as well. I like that, because it keeps the over all look nice and clean. On the back of the boot you’ll find a table saying ‘AirWair and with bouncing soles’. I like the fact that the font is yellow. It matches with the stitching on the soles.

The shoe itself is made out of leather and the soles are rubber. They have a greenish colour and feel very soft and, indeed, bouncy. I think that this adds a lot of comfort to the shoe. It feels like you’re walking on clouds. And that’s something I definitely didn’t expect when I first saw them. I mean, they don’t look like the most comfortable boots in the whole entire world.

The leather is nice and supple. Thanks to that they fit every foot and leg nicely. This also adds to the wearing comfort of the shoe. And in addition to that, I also like the look of the supple leather. I think it looks a lot more comfortable from the outside, and to me that’s prettier.

Dr. Martens 1460 Pascal 8 Eye Boot – €170

The one thing I struggled with when I just got these shoes, is putting them on. They take a little more effort than your regular shoe. You really have to pull out all of the laces in order to get your foot inside. And I don’t have big feet. They are actually slim and rather small. If you do have broader feet, it might be even harder for you to put on these boots. I don’t think they’ll fit as comfortably either if your feet are a little broader, since the bottom part of the shoe is rather slim as well.

The one thing you always read about Dr. Martens is that you have to break them in. But in my experience that’s not the case at all! I didn’t have any struggles with that. I just put them on to work and it was all good. They were a bit squeaky at first, but over time that will disappear. They didn’t cause any pain on my heels or anything like that. It might be because I just got the perfect size of because of the supple leather, but I don’t get what the breaking in thing is all about to be honest!

Talking about sizing, I feel like the Dr. Martens are quite true to size. I bought them in a size 38, which is my regular size, and they fit me perfectly. They literally fit like a glove. They don’t to halves tho, so if you’re like a 38.5, the sizing might not be perfect for you.

All in all I’m really happy with my Dr. Martens. I’ve been wanting to buy a pair for ages and I definitely don’t regret finally doing so. These are the most comfortable shoes ever and they are also very versatile. I wear them with literally everything and to literally everywhere. They offer a lot of support and are perfect for walking longer distances. These are definitely my go-to boots these days and I really don’t want to go without them anymore! I’m head over heels in love with my Dr. Martens!

And that brings us to the end of today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it, and be sure to let me know what you think of Dr. Martens! Do you have a pair too?
