2018 was the year I fell in love with Lush. I have loved the brand for years now, but not as actively as I do now. 2018 was also the year I bought my first ever products from the holiday collection. And I didn’t just buy a couple of things, I bought a whole ton. So far there are still a couple of things I haven’t tried yet and some things I couldn’t get my hands on, but still I thought it might be fun to do a post about my favourite products from this years’ holiday collection. Anyway, long story short, if you want to read more about my Lush holiday favourites of 2018 with some mini-reviews, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Magic Wand Re-Useable Bubble Bar – €9,95
My first favourite is the famous Magic Wand. I have been looking at this forever now and I really wanted to give it a try for myself. It’s big, it’s pink and it smells really nice and sweet. It’s also a bubble bar, which is what I have grown to love and it’s on a stick. All the more reason to get it. Well, I actually ended up getting four, but that’s besides the point.
Like I said the Magic Wand is big. I think it’s good for about 3 to 4 baths, depending on how much product you like to use per bath. I am someone who uses these products rather sparingly because I don’t need to be attacked by the scent and bubbles, but that’s totally personal preference. And the great thing about the Magic Wand is that, even if you use the tiniest little bit of it, your bath will be bright pink and full of bubbles.
The Magic Wand also has some silver glitter on the front. After using it once this glitter was all gone. So the first bath you take with it, will also have some glitter in it. It’s not as glittery as for example the Star Light, Star Bright Bath Melt, but it’s there. It won’t cling onto your skin or your tub after getting out of the bath so that’s a big plus to me.
Star Light, Star Bright Bath Melt – €6,50
Talking about the Star Light, Star Bright Bath Melt. It’s another one of my holiday favourites. It’s the most glittery thing I have ever seen and when you pick it up with our bare hands everything is glitter. If you’re scared of glitter this will probably be a dealbreaker for you, especially since it does leave behind lots of glitter in your tub. This doesn’t stop me from loving it, but I get that it can make some of you a bit hesitant about it.
The scent of Star Light, Star Bright is quite fresh and a bit citrussy. I do like it, but not as much as the Magic Wand scent. That doesn’t mean I don’t love this as much as I love Magic Wand. The thing that makes the Star Light, Star Bright Bath Melt so special is that it leaves your skin feeling so smooth and soft. Since it’s a bath melt it has a lot of oils and good things to it that really soften the skin.
And as a surprise it also has a bit of a bath bomb kind of thing going on on the inside. Normal bath oils from Lush are just oil, but this is a bit of a combination of both a bath bomb and a bath oil. The outside part is soft, hydrating and super glittery and the inside is colourful and fun. This makes your bath look even more interesting.
Candy Cane Bubble Bar – €5,50
My next favourite is the Candy Cane Bubble Bar. I bought this for the first time because I thought it looked really cute and it really does. It isn’t the biggest bubble bar in the whole wide world, but that can fool you. It all depends on how much bubbles you want, but the tiniest little bit of this bubble bar creates enough bubbles for my personal preference. Therefore I think this bubble bar has lasted me about 5 baths and I do think that’s a lot for a tiny little thing like this.
What I like about this bubble bar is that it’s not really peppermint scented. It just has a nice and sweet scent with a hint of that freshness to it, but not too much. I really like the scent and I think it’s a scent that will work for a lot of people. The Candy Cane Bubble Bar also adds a tint to the bath water which I’m a fan of as well, so that’s another big plus about this thing.
All in all I’m really impressed by the Candy Cane Bubble Bar. I really didn’t expect it to last this many baths and I also really like the effect it has on the water and the bubbles. This is by far one of my favourites from the holiday collection and I’ll definitely repurchase it if it makes a return next year.
Candy Mountain Yule Log Bubble Bar – €5,50
This next bubble bar is another big and super sweet favourite. It has the sweetest scent ever and therefore I do think it’s not for everybody. However, I really like and enjoy it. The scent is rather strong and it will definitely fill up your entire bathroom.
Aside from the scent I also really like the way it look like in the bath. It makes the bathwater turn pink and it creates a ton of sweet-scented bubbles. They aren’t the most stiff bubbles I have ever seen, but they are the best smelling ones by far and therefore I am a big fan of this bubble bar.
In terms of consistency I think the Candy Mountain Yule Log Bubble Bar is a lot different from, for example, the Candy Cane. It’s much more soft and easy to crumble underneath the tap. I don’t mind this at all, I think it’s just a different thing but both types of consistencies work great for me.
Snow Fairy Shower Gel – €16
The last favourite I want to share with you guys is obviously my beloved Snow Fairy Shower Gel. I can’t forget about this in a holiday favourites post from Lush right?! If someone should be surprised about the fact that I love this scent, it should be me. I remember smelling it years ago and thinking that it smelled horrific. I didn’t get why this could be anyones favourite. Until I fell in love with it myself this year. How the tables can turn right?!
Anyway, I do think that the Snow Fairy scent is particularly sweet in a way I get that it’s not for everyone. If you don’t like incredibly sweet scents, you most likely aren’t a fan of this either. I also think that the scent itself is very specific. I used to think that it smelled of strawberries, but it actually has a bit of a cherry scent to it. Now I have to admit that normally I’m not a fan of the scent of cherries at all, but in this case I do really like it.
What I love the most about this shower gel is the fact that it actually feels really soft to the touch. While most shower gels are rough, these Lush ones are very gentle and creamy on the skin. This isn’t a specific feature of the Snow Fairy shower gel, but it was the first shower gel from Lush I ever bought and experienced it with.
And with that being said I think I have covered my biggest favourites from the Lush holiday collection of 2018. I really hope that most of these products will make a return this year because I can’t stand living without them!
Anyway, thank you guys so much for reading today’s post, and be sure to let me know what you think of the Lush holiday collection of 2018!
