Makeup brands come and go. Lately I feel like makeup brands are popping out of the ground like no other. It seems like every time I go on the internet a new brand has been launched and everyone is all about it. I personally don’t really follow what’s new in brand-world and I usually like to stick to the brands I know and love. Because I’ve build up quite a number of favourite makeup brands over the past couple of years I thought it might be fun to share them with you guys. So, if you’re interested in finding out which makeup brands I swear by or are you looking for a new brand to try? Make sure you continue reading!
I don’t think this one comes as a big shocker, but my first favourite brand is obviously Dior. I think it has been a little over a year, maybe already one and a half year since I bought my first Dior makeup product, but ever since I did so I was hooked. Dior is such a luxurious and also a very expensive brand and back in the day I used to think that that was all they were. Luxurious and expensive. I didn’t expect much from them quality wise.
Until I bought my first product. From that moment onwards all I wanted was to collect as many amazing products from Dior as possible. It started off with pretty much all of their foundations, continued by lip products, cheek products and eyeshadow palettes and also a mascara. Up and til now I have never been disappointed by a single one of their products, which is a pretty impressive thing. And therefore I really think that Dior is my number one, all time favourite, makeup brand out there. I highly recommend giving their products a try. I’m an especially big fan of their foundations, eyeshadows and lipsticks. They are exceptional!
This next one isn’t a huge surprise either. Chanel is another one of my big favourites. Just like Dior, I didn’t used to think that Chanel products were impressive back when I hadn’t tried any of them, but now that I have quite a collection of Chanel products I’m pretty much hooked. I really like their foundations, they have a great shade for me and they have such a natural effect on my skin. I also really love their lipsticks, especially the Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Boy. That’s my all time favourite. I really just can’t stop using it.
Another reason why I’m a terribly big fan of Chanel is because of their face powders. Whether it’s a bronzer or a highlight, all are just incredibly amazing. So are their mascara’s. I know that lot’s of people don’t really think expensive mascara’s are worth the money, but trust me, from the moment you have tried the Chanel Dimensions De Chanel Mascara you will think differently about that statement. My lord that mascara really is incredible!
Another huge favourite of mine is Tarte. Tarte is a little more difficult to get your hands on if you live in the Netherlands, but there are definitely options for you to get your hands on their product. Of course Tarte has a huge variety of products and I have tried many different product types from them, but the product that really made me fall in love with the brand are their eyeshadow palettes. It all started off with the Tartelette In Bloom palette and nowadays I own many different ones from the brand that I just absolutely love. So far there has never been a single Tarte palette that has disappointed me.
However, if you don’t love eyeshadow that much, Tarte does have some other products that you might love as well. I, for example, really adore their Amazonian Clay Blushes. I only have a couple of mini’s and some that come inside of their palettes, but even those are just incredible. They are so soft, natural looking and they go on so incredibly nicely. I’m a huge fan!
Soap & Glory
A new favourite brand of mine is Soap & Glory. It hasn’t been long since I tried their products for the first time, but my lord, it’s amazing. It’s quite an affordable brand so that’s a big plus compared to the other favourite brands included in this post, and their packagings are just to die for. Everything is pink and has cute names and designs. Their skincare and bodycare products all have this incredibly nice scent to them that makes you want to use them all day long and their makeup just really works.
My personal favourite product from the brand is the Archery 2-in-1 Eyebrow Definer and Setting Gel. I didn’t necessarily have very high expectations from the product, but my lord this really blew me away. The pencil has the perfect colour for my brows and the gel really sets my brows in place like no other gel ever could. I’m so mind-blown by this product I just had to include it in this post.
Another brand I discovered just a couple of months ago is Hourglass. It’s an incredibly expensive brand and even I feel personally victimised whenever I have to pay for them. My lord! However, their products are really worth it. The quality of their eyeshadows is just like no other eyeshadow I have ever seen. I really didn’t know they made palettes this pigmented and this blendable.
Their blushes are just as amazing. I really don’t get how they do it, but somehow their powders have this incredible texture. They are soft, smooth, silky and rich feeling. You can just feel the luxury in them. They also apply so evenly and smoothly and create this incredibly natural looking look, without being too sheer. Really, if there’s one luxurious brand I recommend splurging on it will definitely be Hourglass. They are so unique and different from all other luxury brands, I really admire that about them.
Even though there are a lot more brands I absolutely adore, the last brand I feel like I need to mention is Bobbi Brown. I got to know Bobbi Brown through their amazing Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation. Ever since I realised how flippin’ amazing that foundation is, I can’t stay away from their products. It’s not just their foundations that I love, their lip products, eyeshadows but also their face products. Everything about the brand is just amazing.
However, if you don’t feel like spending too much money, I think that Bobbi Brown is especially exceptional when it comes to their foundations. They have great formulas and incredibly large shade ranges. They even have a shade that matches my skin tone perfectly and that’s not something that happens too often. If you’re an eyeshadow fan I also recommend checking their eyeshadows out. They are amazingly formulated and I really adore working with them!
With that being said I think it’s time to end this post. There are definitely a lot more brads that I adore like Too Faced, Benefit, Nars and whatnot, but I obviously can’t mention everything in this one post. The brands that I named in this post are definitely my biggest favourites and therefore I really do recommend checking them out yourself!
Thank you so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which brands are your all time favourites and which brands you would like to give a try!
