I love makeup and I love literally every product in my collection. Okay maybe not every product, but most of them are pretty great. Even though I love most of them, I wouldn’t miss all of them if I would have to dump all of my makeup. Some products however, I just couldn’t live without. Today I’m going to discuss those essential beauty products. If you’re interested in finding out which products I just can’t miss, make sure you continue reading!
First of all I just couldn’t live without my two favourite moisturisers. I recently changed up pretty much my entire skincare routine and these two moisturisers are essential in that routine. They’re both from The Body Shop and I love them both in their own ways. The first one is the Seaweed moisturiser. I use this one during the day. This one is very light weight, gel-based, it sinks in quickly and it mattifies the skin.
The other one is from the Aloe Vera range. It’s way thicker and more buttery than the Seaweed moisturiser and it’s way more hydrating. I have been using this everyday before I went to bed and it really cleared up my skin. Even though a moisturiser like this doesn’t seem suitable for oily skin, it did make my skin look and feel way better and I love the feeling of a nice moisturiser on my face before I go to bed.
Next up is foundation. For the past few years one of my favourite makeup products has been foundation. Not because I have terrible skin, but because it’s just a great product and I love the way it makes my skin look. Recently I’ve been buying and trying lot’s of different foundation and I completely fell in love with one of them: the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation.
This foundation is absolutely fool-proof, it has great coverage, the colour matches my skin really well and it just looks good all day. It hasn’t been in my collection for that long, but it’s the best foundation that has ever touched my skin and I just don’t want to live without it.
When it comes to makeup tools the Beautyblender is definitely a product I can’t go a day without. I’ve been using it every single day for the past year and it has changed my makeup game. Every foundation looks perfectly flawless when you blend it in using the Beautyblender and it really minimises the risk of your foundation looking blotchy or uneven because of the airbrushed finish the Beautyblender adds to every foundation.
Another tool I can’t miss in my routine is a MAC 217 kinda brush. I know that I’ve said that I’m not too big of a fan of the brush because I don’t think it’s that much better than the Zoeva Soft Definer which is a million times more affordable, and I still stand by that point, but I do really like eyeshadow brushes shaped like the MAC 217 because it’s just so multifunctional and it applies eyeshadow so super beautifully.
Onto a few body products. First of all I could not live if I didn’t have my Lady Speed Stick. I once won one from a giveaway and I was quite skeptical. They’re pretty expensive in the Netherlands and I said I would never spend that much on a deodorant. But honestly they are so worth it. The LSS deodorants keep you sweat free all day, every day, no matter what. It’s a life changer.
I also wouldn’t be able to survive this life without a nice big jar of body butter. I especially love the ones by The Body Shop and Rituals, but pretty much any body butter will do if I didn’t have a choice. I just think it feels really nice on the skin and it makes me feel so much better. I love it.
The very last essential beauty product I wanted to mention in today’s post is lip balm. I have to say that sometimes I totally forget about lip balm. But honestly, if I did not own any lip balm anymore my life would suck. I have like super dry lips, especially during the winter, and they are chapped all-the-time. Lip balm really is my only saviour when it comes to that and I could not go a week without it.
And that pretty much concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which beauty products are essential to you!
