Okay guys. From November/December of 2018 onwards I’m a sucker for baths. Bathing is my favourite way to relax these days and I do it as much and as often as possible. So throughout the months I have formed quite a routine that follow every time I take a bath. It’s not a very spectacular or big routine, but I love taking baths and I want to share my joy with you, which is why I thought it would be fun to share my bath time routine with you guys. Like it or not, we’re going it today. Right here, right now. So click that continue reading button if you want to find out how I do it. How does a girl like me take a bath? I know you’re dying to find out.
I can be really simple about this whole thing. What I do is I turn on the tap, wait for the bath to fill, use a Lush product and sit in the bath for a while, get out of the bath, and I’m done. But obviously there’s more to it than just that. It’s a whole thing and I’m going to walk you through it.
The very first thing I do is I think of what Lush product to use in today’s bath. This is quite a process for me. It’s even so big that sometimes I think about it for multiple days. But more often than not it’s more of a last minute decision. I just go through my collection, look at what I have and I go ham.
In todays bath I used my very favourite bath bomb, the Lush Aubergine Bath Bomb. It used to be from the Valentines collection of 2019, but I read that it’s sticking around for longer because it’s such a success! I’m really pumped about that because this is such an amazing bath bomb. It has the 29 High Street Scent and it’s purple and shimmery. It really is phenomenal!
When I’m done choosing which bath bomb or bubble bar I want to use, I start prepping the bathroom. I start off with placing a towel in front of the bath for when I get out of the bath and then I rinse the tub. When the tub is clean, I close off the drain and fill the tub with water. I still struggle with the temperature each time I try to run myself a bath. It always ends up either too hot or too cold. So while it’s filling up I usually go back and forth into the bathroom and change the temperature hoping that this time it will end up being just right. It never is. Really, never.
If I want to use a bubble bar this is the part where I take my sieve, crumble up the bar and hold the sieve underneath the running tap. Sometimes, if I’m really into it, I might spend a little more time creating big beautiful bubbles. But more often than not I’m way too lazy to do so and I just let it fall into the water through the sieve and be done with it.
If I’m using a bath bomb I’ll wait until the bath is fully filled and then pop it right in. If I’m using something new this is the part where I’ll take pictures of what my bath looks like using that product. I have to say that this is a part I don’t spend too much time on. At this point all I want is to get into the flippin’ tub.
Oh wait, there’s more. Before I get into the tub there’s much more that needs to be prepped. I need to get my hair up in a bun so it won’t get wet and I need to collect the products I’m going to use while being in the bath and for after the bath. I don’t really use that much, but today I did use some fun products. I used my Lush Like A Virgin Cleansing Balm to cleanse my face. I also picked out the Chanel Gel Purete to cleanse my skin again and get rid of the greasy layer the cleansing balm leaves behind.
To wash my body I used my very favourite Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel I bought this Christmas and absolutely love. I’m so regretful I didn’t get a bigger size of this. It’s literally gold in a bottle!
For after the bath I took my The Body Shop Almond Milk Body Yogurt and my favourite deodorant from Lady Speed Stick. I also took my contact fluid and the container I put my contacts in. I do this after the bath so I can still watch shows while I’m in the tub.
Aside from the products I’m using, I’ll also set up my laptop with either a vlog from my favourite Youtubers or a Netflix show. This is so I don’t get bored after 10 minutes and leave the bath. That would be a waste!
And that’s pretty much what I do. Today I did admire the crazily beautiful Aubergine Bath Bomb before I got into the tub, and I was pretty mesmerised by it throughout the entire bath. But I also managed to watch a couple of vlogs. Usually I soak for about 20 to 25 minutes, but this day I was so tired I actually stayed in the tub for 45 minutes. A personal record for me. And I’m proud of that.
Anyway, I think that sums up my bath time routine. I hope you enjoyed reading about it in one way or the other, and be sure to let me know what your bath-time routine looks like!
