Murad Intensive-C Radiance Treatment

25/10/2016

img_6011

Today I’m going to be reviewing the second item from my October LF Beauty Box. It’s the Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel. I had no clue what it was, what it was meant to do and how it had to be used, but after trying it out a couple of times I think I know enough about it in order to review it for you guys. So if you’re interested in finding out more about this very interesting product, make sure you continue reading!

img_6001

Because I got this in my LF Beauty Box I got the miniature of the product. The mini size comes in a small orange and white box and inside that is the little tube. From what I saw online and from what the packaging shows us, the full size will have a pump and will be way bigger. The size that I got comes in a tube. I like both packagings and I think both are quite hygienic some I’m totally happy with it.

The little packaging I got contains 10 ml of product. On top of the box it says 2 treat and repair. At first I thought this meant that this tube contains enough product for only 2 treatments, but now that I’ve used it I think it means it’s step 2 in some sort of skincare range.

On the back of the little box Murad gives us some more information regarding this product. It says that it has an intense formula that brightens, smoothes and hydrates the skin to deliver a radiant glow after just one treatment. On the front it also says something about an environmental shield. I didn’t know what this meant so I ended up looking it up on the internet. This is what Murad had to say about it:

“The power of antioxidant Vitamin-C in Murad Environmental Shield products combats the effects of Environmental Aging. Every day, your skin is exposed to UV radiation, pollution and toxins. That exposure increases the number of free radicals in your system that attack healthy skin cells and lead to premature wrinkles, age spots and dark spots and a loss of luster in your skin. Murad Environmental Shield products brighten skin and improve tone, texture and clarity. Murad Environmental Shield products, as part of an Inclusive Health™ lifestyle, can give you firmer, more youthful skin that’s brighter and Better Every Day®”.

It sounds very interesting and sciency but to be honest I just can’t really believe products like this actually make that big of a difference. And the thing is, it’s hard to test if it actually does those things ’cause you’re probably not able to find out without the use of special instruments.

What I do know about this product is what the texture is like. I expected it to be pretty light weight, quickly to sink in and gel-like. It was nothing like that at all. It’s was quite a rich product that felt like it has quite some oil in it. Not in a bad way, but you could feel it was something very moisturising.

The product itself didn’t feel very thick. It actually looked like a gel-based moisturiser but it didn’t feel that way because it’s so loaded with great and moisturising ingredients. When I applied it to my face it left a bit of a semi-white layer behind on my skin and it didn’t sink in. Because it’s not a moisturiser but a treatment this is something I could’ve expected but I just didn’t.

After 10 minutes of leaving it on your face it’s time to take it off using lukewarm to warm water. The product didn’t become very hard or something like that like most face masks do. A part of it had been absorbed by my skin and the rest was just the same texture as it was when I applied it.

When I finished washing it off of my face my skin felt very nice. It was soft and silky but it also had a nice and saturated feel to it. It might not really make sense, but in order to get what I’m trying to say I think you just have to try it. Like Murad says this is a product that should make your skin more radiant. I did feel like that happened and the effect of that was quite long lasting, so I’m quite impressed by that. It’s not like you’re going to end up looking as shiny as a mirror, but you will get that nice and healthy radiant glow to the skin.

Overall I think this Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel is a great high-quality product. It is rather expensive but if your skin really needs that extra bit of moisture and radiance I do think it’s worth the price. It’s a unique product and whether or not all that talk about the environmental shield is true, I like it and I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

The Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel is available at Lookfantastic for €57,45 (50ml).

That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and let me know if you’re familiar with the brand Murad and if so let me know what you think of it!

XOXO, Nicole.
