I’ve always wanted to try one of Maybelline’s eyeshadow quattro’s but for some reason I never really bought one. Like I mentioned yesterday I won a give away on Eline’s blog and one of the products I won was a Maybelline quad. I was so excited to try it out and I’m glad I finally got to do so. Today I’ll be reviewing it. If you’re interested in finding out whether I ended up loving it or not, keep on reading!
The Maybelline Silk Glam Eyeshadow Palette comes in a pretty basic packaging. The bottom is black, the lid is clear and on the bottom it says “Maybelline”. Even though I’m not a huge fan of the packaging, I do like that you’re able to see the colors of the shadow through the lid.
The eyeshadow palettes contains 4 colors and comes with a double ended sponge applicator. All colors in this palette are either purple or have some a purple shimmer in them. I really glad I got this palette since I absolutely love purple as an eyeshadow color, but I didn’t have any purple colors like these yet.
The first color in the palette is a very pretty icy white highlight color. Because it’s shimmery like that I love using it in my inner corners. It makes me look a lot more awake than I actually feel like I am. Underneath that color is a very pretty pale lilac color with that same iciness. I really like this one. I think this color could be perfect as eyelid color.
Next up is another light eyelid-proof color. It’s a little less pink than the one before that. This is a more blueish purple color, while the one before that is more of a pinky purple. I really like that there are two different eyelid-proof colors in here so you can switch up between the two.
The last color in the palette is a darker purple one. It’s another blueish purple color and it again has that iciness to it. I really like this purple. I think it would look really pretty with all colors in this palette, but also in combination with neutral shades.
Pigmentation wise I’m kind of impressed. I didn’t really know what to expect because I’ve never tried Maybelline eyeshadows before, but I’m pleasantly surprised. The colors have a decent amount of pigmentation and are all easy to work with. You can tell that they are a bit powdery, but that doesn’t make them less pretty. I think especially on the swatch you can see how pretty these colors would look together. I really like it.
Over all I would say I’m just impressed by this palette. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but in the end I think it’s a great palette. The colors are gorgeous and the pigmentation is impressive. If I feel like using something else than my usual earthy shadows, I would definitely gravitate towards this gorgeous quad.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you have any experience with Maybelline eyeshadows!
