About a million ages ago I bought the Maybelline Jelly Glow blush from a webshop that doesn’t exist anymore. I bought it because it reminded me of the Maybelline Bouncy Blushes which you can’t get in the Netherlands and this seemed equally as interesting. Even though I was very excited about trying this product, I didn’t have high hopes for it. If you’re interested in finding out if I was wrong having low expectations or not, make sure you keep on reading!
The Maybelline Jelly Glow blush comes in a teeny tiny box with letters on it which I can’t read. I guess it’s either Japanese or Chinese, but I could totally be wrong about that. Inside the little box is an even smaller round packaging with the blush in it. I really like how small it is, it’s cute and it’s very convenient storage wise. The only downside to it is that it gets a little lost in my blush compartment in my collection, but that’s ok.
I bought the blush in the shade 01. I guess it has a name as well, since it says something in an unknown language right beside the numbers, but since I can’t read that I don’t know what it’s called.
The colour I bought is absolutely stunning. It’s a rosy pink colour. Even though it might not be the most unique colour in the world, its a one of a kind colour in my collection. I do really love colours like this. I think they look absolutely stunning on all kinds of skin tones. Actually, I think it looks good on everyone. That’s always a big fat plus for me.
When it comes to the texture, this is indeed a very special colour. If it’s really similar to the Bouncy Blushes is not something I can tell you right now since I have never been able to get my hands on one, but from what I saw online it’s kinda the same idea.
The blush itself is not like any other cream blush. In fact I don’t really consider this blush a cream blush. It’s a bit in between powder and cream. You can easy apply it with a brush, the same way you would with a powder blush, and it will have a similar look to it. It doesn’t feel greasy or way too moisturising on the skin and it also won’t slip and slide everywhere after a while.
Pigmentation wise I’m really positive. It’s not too intense, but it does show up. I actually really love the way it looks on the cheeks. It has something special to it. Even though it isn’t a super shimmery blush, it does add a settle glow, which I think looks absolutely stunning. In fact, this is one of my favourite blushes ever!
I think it’s clear that I’m in love with this blush. I’m really happy I managed to get my hands on it, and if you ever see it, I suggest you do the same. It’s budget proof and it’s actually one of the prettiest blushes I have ever used. Aside from that it’s also a really fun blush because of the texture.
I ordered it from a webshop that doesn’t exist anymore, but if you google a bit you’ll be able to find it. It’s available at sites like Amazon for £3,75 and Bol.com for €6,99.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know if you have ever tried a blush like this one!
XOXO, Nicole.
