Maybelline Color Tattoo On And On Bronze

30/11/2015

Maybelline Color Tattoo Packaging

A while ago I reviewed the MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection. In that review I made some comparisons between the MAC Paint Pot and the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s. Because I never really reviewed my favourite Maybelline Color Tattoo I figured this would be the perfect time. So, if you’re interested in finding out what I love about the Maybelline Color Tattoo in On And On Bronze, and why it’s my favourite one, keep on reading!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Jar

The Maybelline Color Tattoo comes in a glass jar with a black lid. On top of the lid you’ll find a sticker with all the information on it regarding the product. Fun detail: the colour of the sticker represents the colour of the product. The colour selection in the Netherlands, and in pretty much the rest of Europe, isn’t really impressive and not at all like the range they have in the US (we only have about 7 to 10 colours and nearly no limited editions). To be honest, this colour is one of the only ones out of the entire collection I actually like.

On And On Bronze is a, as the name already suggests, bronze colour. It’s pretty dark and if it wasn’t for the old Missglamorazzi makeup tutorials, not a colour I would wear as an eyelid shade. That is because back in the days I would have thought that a dark colour like this would look way to extreme and smokey when you apply it to the entire eyelid. But because Missglamorazzi used it in one of her old tutorials as a base, with a lighter powder shadow on top of it, I realised it could actually look really pretty when you use it like that, and that’s basically what I have been doing with it ever since.

Maybelline Color Tattoo On and On Bronze

On And On Bronze was really a game changer for me. Before this one I had never really used a cream shadow that I liked. The ones I used before were either way to greasy and made my eyeshadow crease within a second or they were just not pigmented at all. Because of those experiences I wasn’t too sure about this Color Tattoo at first either, but here I am, a die hard cream shadow user who already finished one entire jar of this Maybelline Color Tattoo.

The thing I like so much about these Maybelline Color Tattoo’s is that they stay in place literally all day. If you don’t believe me, just go to the store, swatch it and see how well it stays throughout the day. It’s incredible. It does mean that you do have to work pretty quickly with it, so make sure you immediately blend it when you apply it, but aside from that, the fact that it stays in place so well is absolutely amazing.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Full and Empty Comparison

Like I said, I love using the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s as a base underneath my eyeshadows. It helps intensifying the colours you put on top and it makes them stay all day. But, that’s not the only way you can use these shadows. You can also use the Maybelline Color Tattoo just like any other normal eyeshadow. You can put this on your eye, blend it and live your life. It’s really quick and easy and if you do so you can be sure that your eyeshadow looks perfect all day.

However, the are a few cons to this amazing Maybelline Color Tattoo. The first one being that it dries out pretty quickly. Once you start using a jar, make sure you finish it within a year or so. If you don’t do that the product will get really dry and hard to work with. It’s not impossible to work with it once it’s dried out, but it’s a lot harder and the results will not be as pretty as when it’s not as dry.

Maybelline Color Tattoo On And On Bronze Swatch

The second, and last, con is that the texture of these Color Tattoo’s is a bit different than you might expect from a cream shadow. It’s pretty sticky and therefore not as smooth and creamy as for example the MAC Paint Pots or the P2 cream shadows. I do feel like that because of the stickiness the product, and everything you put on top, stays in place better compared to creamier cream eyeshadows, but it’s just a little more difficult to work with.

Back to the pro’s. The pigmentation. If you’re looking for an super intense and pigmented cream eyeshadow, this is the product you’re looking for. The Maybelline Color Tattoo are the most intense and most pigmented cream shadows I have ever used. They are incredible. I really don’t think any brand can beat that.

Maybelline Color Tat

Over all I’m just a really big fan of the Maybelline Color Tattoo. I own four different shades at the moment and even though I love all of them a lot, this one in the shade On And On Bronze is just my absolute favourite. It really makes my eyeshadows pop and stand out and I love how it just doesn’t budge throughout the day. Even when it’s like 40 degrees Celsius and you’re running a marathon, it just stays in place. It’s amazing and I highly recommend giving one of the Maybelline Color Tattoo’s a try! They’re worth it.

The Maybelline Color Tattoo is available at the drugstore for €9,99.

That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you have ever used one of the Color Tattoo’s and if so which colour is your favourite!

Wat klinkt hij fijn, vooral omdat hij zo goed blijft zitten de hele dag. Exactly what I need, yep! Heel benieuwd naar de andere kleuren nu. Hoog tijd om ze eens te checken in de winkel!
