A while ago I ordered a few new Maybelline blushes from the Colorshow Blush’Em range. I have never seen this range before, but I was very curious to see what they would be like. I have never tried a Maybelline blush before so I wasn’t sure to expect. If you’re interested in finding out how I ended up liking these blushes, make sure you keep on reading!
The Maybelline Blush’Em Duo Blushes come in pretty tiny plastic packagings. The box in which the actual blush comes in made out of plastic as well and is decorated with the design of the blush and some words in a language I don’t understand. I guess it’s Chinese or Japanese, but I’m not completely sure about that.
The packagings are really tiny which make these blushes perfect for travelling. They don’t take in much space at all. The downside is that you do easily lose them in your stash if you have quite a lot of blushes. They don’t really stand out and easily disappear behind the bigger more outstanding packagings.
There are quite a few shades available, but I decided to buy only two of them. The first one is called I’m Glowy. I’m Glowy consists out of two peachy coloured blushes. The biggest part has a little more pink to it than the smaller part does, but overall they are kind of similar. It’s not like you can really tell the difference once you’ve applied it.
I do really like the way the blushes look together. I like the idea of having two shades of blush in one, but I do think that because these two colours are so similar, it doesn’t really make a difference. But still, I like the idea behind it.
The other colour I bought is called I Love Pink. I Love Pink consists out of a bright pink colour and a very pale dusty pink colour. These colours are obviously much more different from each other than the colours in the other duo. I kind of like that. This way you can kinda create your own colour. You can add a little more of the light part if you want your blush to be lighter or you could use the light part as a highlighter.
Quality wise these blushes are okay. They aren’t mind blowing and they aren’t the best thing I have ever tried. But they’re also far from the worst thing I have ever tried. The blushes are a tad bit powdery which is something I don’t like about them, but aside from that, it’s not bad for a budget proof blush.
The pigmentation is decent. It isn’t mind blowing, but it does show up, and that’s exactly how I like my blushes. Some people want to see a shit ton of pigment, but I personally prefer a bit more sheer blushes so you don’t end up looking like a clown.
The lasting power of these blushes is decent as well. They don’t stay all day, but they do last a few hours on my skin. Most blushes don’t stay all day, not even more expensive ones, so it’s definitely not bad that these don’t either. They are just really decent, but nothing more than that.
I think the message is clear, the Maybelline Colorshow Blush’Em Duo Blushes are decent. They aren’t mind blowing, they aren’t spectacular, these aren’t blushes I would rush to the store for, but they are nice to have. The quality is decent and they are very affordable. If you’re looking for a nice budget blush, these two are absolutely great, if you’re looking for a bit more luxury, you might want to skip these.
I bought mine at a site that doesn’t exist anymore, but you can still get these blushes at places like Ebay for $4,32.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know if you have any experience with the Maybelline blushes, and if so, let me know what you think!
XOXO, Nicole.
