I think those of you who have been reading my blog for a while now know that I’m obsessed with Baby Lips. I absolutely love every single one of the Baby Lips that I have tried and I’m always super excited to try the new ones. One afternoon when I decided to go to the drugstore, I discovered something: new Baby Lips! I was extremely excited and immediately decided to take both of them with me. After testing them for a while now, it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out whether these two Baby Lips are as amazing as all of the other ones, keep on reading!
Let’s start off with Peach Punch. On the picture it seems like the packaging is bright blue, but in real life it’s actually more of a turquoise colour. I absolutely love turquoise so it makes me really happy that this packaging is turquoise. The letters on the packaging are coral coloured, which goes really well with the turquoise. For me this packaging is already a hit!
Peach Punch has a really nice scent to it. It’s very different from most other Baby Lips that I own. It’s peachy, obviously, but it’s not extremely peachy. It’s pretty difficult to describe. What I can tell you is that I absolutely love the scent. It’s amazing.
Most Baby Lips have either a clear colour or no colour at all. This one however is a bit of a combination between the two. It does have a bit of colour to it, but you can tell that it’s not a strong colour and that it is not going to be a pigmented shade. Even though I usually prefer Baby Lips with a tint, since that way you really have that all in one product, you get the moisturising effect of a lipbalm and the colour of a lipstick, I do like this one a lot too.
Even though this product doesn’t add too much colour to the lips, I do feel like it enhances your natural lip colour. I don’t know how that works, but I do really like it. Besides that I’m also in love with the way this product moisturises my lips. Just like any other Baby Lips, it’s absolutely amazing!
The second one I got is called Melon Mania. Melon Mania comes in a green packaging with bright pink letters on it. I, again, really like the look of it. There are, besides the colours of the packaging, two main differences between Melon Mania and Peach Punch.
The first difference between the two is that Peach Punch has quite a strong scent to it, but Melon Mania doesn’t. You have to actually sniff the stick (and not have a cold) in order to smell the actual scent, while you only have to open Peach Punch in order to smell that scent. I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing, ’cause if you’re not feeling like a scented lipbalm, this one is perfect, but it is a difference.
The second difference between the two balms is that Melon Mania has a clear colour to it, while Peach Punch didn’t have too much colour. Because I usually prefer coloured lipbalms, you could think I prefer Melon Mania because of that. Normally I would say you’re right about that, but this time I have to tell you you’re wrong. The thing is that Melon Mania does have a colour to it when you look at it in the stick, but on the lips it’s barely visible. While other tinted Baby Lips were quite pigmented, Melon Mania is pretty sheer. Again, whether that’s a good or a bad thing is totally up to you and your preferences, but I was a tad bit disappointed by that.
When it comes to moisturising my lips Melon Mania is just as amazing as Peach Punch and all other Baby Lips, so on that part I’m all positive!
Over all I think the two new Baby Lips are quite amazing. I do think it’s a little bit disappointing that both of them don’t have too much colour to them, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. When it comes to moisturising the lips they are both absolutely amazing and I absolutely love them for that. I’m really glad I added these two to my collection!
The Maybelline Baby Lips are available at the drugstore for €3,99.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know which Baby Lips are your favourite!
