Today it’s the first day of June which means May is over. May has been a very busy but fun month for me. I went on a vacation with my mom the last week of April so throughout May I’ve been testing a lot of exciting new products. Therefore I’m really excited to write this month’s favourites post since I’ve discovered so many amazing products. Without further ado, if you’re interested in reading about the products I’ve fallen in love with throughout the month of May, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with my most exciting favourite. A product I didn’t even expect I was going to buy anytime soon. I’m talking about the Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation. I knew I wanted to have it some day, but I’m glad that day came sooner than I expected. Since it is a very watery foundation I didn’t know what to expect in terms of coverage, but my lord this baby is stunning!
The foundation is very lightweight and comfortable to wear. It’s one of the most comfortable things ever and that’s exactly what I need now that it’s this warm outside. Aside from that the coverage is amazing. It’s a medium coverage but it’s definitely buildable to be even more than that. I love it!
Along with the foundation I bought a new mascara. I haven’t reviewed it yet but I can already let you guys know that I’m a huge fan of it. I’m talking about the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Mascara. It has a nice black colour, it makes my lashes look very nice and long, it separates them very well and I just like the overall look of it. The only minor downside is that it’s the furthest from waterproof a mascara can every be.
Another product that has blown my mind this month is the NYX HD Blush in Taupe. This has been a cult favourite for years and now I finally get why. It’s just the perfect contouring colour for my pale skin. It doesn’t look orange or fake and it does make my face look a little better. I’m really happy I finally got my hands on it!
This next favourite isn’t going to be a surprising one. It’s my new Too Faced palette, the Funfetti palette. From the moment I saw it I knew I was going to buy it eventually. Not just because of the colours or the quality (of course that was a big factor too) but also because it just looks so fun and happy. It’s just a stunning product.
But like I said the quality also played a huge role in the buying-proces. As we all know Too Faced does make great eyeshadows and this palette is not an exception to that. The shadows are so incredibly rich and pigmented. These are literally one of the best shadows out there and I love it!
Lastly on the makeup department I’ve fallen back in love with MAC eyeshadows again. A long, long time ago I was planning on filling a whole palette with shadow refills by MAC but after buying 2 refills that project just stopped. This month I finally decided to change that. I bought an empty palette from MAC and 2 more shadows and put them all in that palette.
The colour scheme of the palette might not be perfect. I mean it’s definitely not a palette you can use on its own, but I do love all four shades that are in there, especially the two new ones Woodwinked and Satin Taupe. Those two are just stunning!
Moving on to some skincare favourites. As you guys know I bought a lot of new skincare problems back in France. I bought some of the most popular French pharmacy products as well as some more unknown ones. I have fallen in love with a lot of skincare products but because I don’t want to make this post too lengthy I’m only going to show you my top picks.
First of all I’ve fallen in love with Biafine. This is one of the most famous products you can get at the French pharmacy and I totally get why. It’s actually meant for burn wounds but it does an amazing job at clearing your skin and getting rid of any other skin problem you might have like dry patches, irritations, you name it!
I also have been enjoying the Caudalie Beauty Elixer a lot. I didn’t really get what it was at first but now that I’ve that all figured out I just love it. I personally enjoy using it as a makeup spray and it does a great job at that. It takes away everything that could make your makeup look unnatural and it adds a gorgeous natural glow to the skin. Nothing too intense, but really, really pretty.
Moving on to another French classic: Embryolisse. I have heard so much about it throughout the years and now I finally get what it’s all about. I ended up buying the classic Lait Creme Concentre as well as the Hydra-Mat version and I love both of them a ton. They make my skin feel so incredibly soft and smooth. It’s amazing!
And even though I have enjoyed a lot more products throughout the month I’m going to end this post right here. These products were definitely my top favourites out of the products that I have fallen in love with and that’s what this post is about. Anyway, thank you guys so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which products you have fallen in love with throughout the month of May!
XOXO, Nicole.
