Hey guys, long time no see! I’ve been really busy the past couple of weeks but now I’m back (and I’m better, hihi just kiddig). Anyway, throughout May I’ve been pretty darn busy, which means that I did develop and stick to a steady routine this month. But surprisingly enough, I did decide to use different products that I’m used to. This resulted in a couple of amazing rediscoveries and obviously I do have a couple of new favourites. So, long story short: I’m going to show you guys which products I’ve fallen in love with throughout May and if you’re interested in reading about that, click that continue reading button!
Starting with the base. These three all have been in my collection for a long time by now. Two are rediscoveries, and one of them is a product I’ve fallen in love with even more than I already was. Let’s start off with the first rediscovery: the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. This is quite a cult classic. I think everyone can agree with my on that one. It’s a stunning, super-increcible lightweight foundation. It’s literally invisible and weightless, but it does even out my skintone in the most beautiful way ever. It’s super comfortable to wear and it has a nice yellowy tint to it that looks really flattering on my skin. I’m so in love with this little guy!
The second rediscovery is the Lancome Long Lasting Softening Concealer. I bought this a whole while ago and I absolutely adored it back then. Because of the concealer craze that happened after that, I did forget about this one a little bit. But now it’s back and I love it so much. It’s such a great full-coverage concealer. It’s an amazing formula that looks super natural and is super easy to work with. This really is an essential for me!
The last favourite is the Nars Pore & Shine Control Primer. I bought this a while ago, loved it and continued using it. But this month more than ever, I realised how amazing this actually is. It’s mattifying but in a natural way. And what I love most about it, is that it has a lotion-like formula, so not super silicony like most primers. This makes this the most comfortable primer ever. I actually repurchased it this month!
My next favourite is a relatively new product to my collection. It’s the Diorskin Wild Earth Mineral Nude Bronze Powder. It’s a really pretty summery bronzer. It’s a bit more warm-toned than I’d usually wear, but I noticed that (with this weather) it’s really, really pretty and flattering. In addition to that I feel like the quality of this powder is just incredible. It’s super soft and satin-like and incredibly easy to work with. It goes on very easily and it’s also super easy to blend. It also stays in place all day long and it’s nicely pigmented. Yup, this is a real big favourite of mine.
The next product is another rediscovery. MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle is one of the first more high-end highlighters I have ever bought. But back then I wasn’t all that crazy about it. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it, but I wasn’t crazy about it. Until I noticed a colleague of me was wearing it and it looked stunning on her. It made me decide to try mine on once again and this time I totally fell in love with it. I’ve been using it non-stop ever since. How crazy, right?!
Next up is a Lush product. I know what you’re thinking: how can a favourites post not include a single Lush product? Well it really can’t. It just isn’t possible for me. However, I do think it’s hard to include them because once a bath bomb has been used, it’s gone so I can’t photograph it anymore. The products I’ve reviewed are still good, because I can use the picture from that post, but some of them I didn’t review I can’t show you guys.
Anyway, this month’s Lush favourite is the Lush Harajuku Strawberries & Cream Bath Bomb. The lovely Evelien from Ohmylush.com/nl picked it up for me when she went to the Lush store in Liverpool (goals btw.) and I’m so happy with it. It’s a really good smelling bath bomb and it’s something very different from what I’d normally use. I think the colours are really pretty and I love that it’s kind of a bubbleroon but then the bath bomb edition.
Another Lush bath bomb I’ve actually ended up really liking is one I haven’t reviewed and therefore I don’t have a picture of it. But it’s the Snowfairy Jelly Bomb. I bought this while it was on sale last Christmas, not knowing it was a jelly bomb. I didn’t expect to like it, which is why it took me so long to use it. But in the end I actually loved it a whole lot. I can’t wait for it to return this year and stock up on it!
The very last favourite of the month is a brand new perfume I bought. I’m normally quite picky and loyal to the perfumes I used. But when I smelled this one, I knew I had to get it. It’s from Guerlain and it’s called Mon Guerlain. I actually got a sample of this perfume that I decided to use. I ended up liking it so much that I decided to purchase it. That’s something that rarely ever happens to me, since I never really use perfume samples. But lord am I glad I did so this time, because this is the best smelling thing ever!
And with that being said, I think I’ve covered all of my May favourites. Thank you guys so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which products you’ve been loving throughout May!
