Recently I discovered the existence of makeup removing cleansing cloths or whatever else you want to call them. You know what I’m talking about: these washable cloths that remove your makeup with just a bit of water?! Okay I have heard of the Makeup Eraser before, but I never fully understood the concept. Until I was reading about how to be more eco-friendly in your makeup habits and I read about washable cotton pads and makeup wipes. This lead to me purchasing a set of these Magnitone Wipe Out The Amazing Microfibre Cleansing Cloths that remove makeup with just water. I’ve been using them for a couple of weeks now and therefore I feel like today is a great day to review them. So, if you’re interested in finding out more about these wipes and whether or not they work, make sure you continue reading this post!
There are different packs and colours in this Magnitone Wipe Out cleansing cloth collection. I think it’s not a surprise to any of you, but I chose the pink ones. If you’re more of a neutral kind of person there’s also a grey version available. Whatever suits your style best. In terms of packs they also have different options for you. There are packs of two and packs of three. I decided to go for the pack of three so I know I’m going to be set for a while. After all I wanted to keep one wipe at my boyfriends place and one at home. And having a spare one is never a bad thing to me.
Anyway, it did take me a while to finally decide I wanted to go for the Magnitone cleansing wipes. Cause girl, there’s a lot out there these days. I had no clue but lots of brands are selling similar wipes in all sizes and colours. I couldn’t find any review on most of them, so I just decided to go with my gut. These looked the cutest, I really like the design on the box they come in and well, it was a great price. So there you have it.
Let’s do a little price-comparison. The popular The Makeup Eraser wipe costs €19,95 a piece. I paid just €23,45 for this pack of three. That’s only a couple extra pennies for two more wipes. I know that there might be a difference in quality between the two, but to be honest. These are just wipes. Simple cloths of soft material. How different can they be?!
Magnitone Wipe Out The Amazing Microfibre Cleansing Cloth x3 – €23,45
Since I was new to this whole cleansing cloth kind of deal, I wasn’t completely sure how this all worked and how to use a cloth like this. I actually didn’t fully realise it was actually supposed to remove your full face of makeup with just a bit of water.
But before we jump in to talking about whether or not it does that, let’s first take a look at the claims and at how you are supposed to use this magical piece of pink fabric. According to Magnitone their Wipe Out Cleansing Cloths effortlessly remove makeup. They are supposed to tackle stubborn makeup using just warm water. The cloths are ultra-soft and ideal for sensitive and intolerant skin types. Without causing irritation or dragging on the delicate eye area, the towels effortlessly glide over the skin; without the need of cleansing. Unlike cleansing wipes, these eco-friendly cloths are designed to absorb water and swell when damp before grabbing onto bacteria and impurities. The wet cloth is able to eliminate traces of makeup from the skin without smearing them across the face first. These cloths are also antibacterial and reusable. You can pop them into you washing machine for up to 1000 at 30 degrees. How crazy is that?!
Well, all of those claims do sound incredibly impressive if you ask me and I therefore had very high hopes about these cloths.
So, having said that, let’s take a closer look at the cloth. As you can tell it looks incredibly soft and it really is. Even if you have more sensitive skin, this isn’t going to irritate or hurt in anyway possible. Not even on the eye area. It’s incredibly, super, mega soft. The cloth has two sides and both sides have a slightly different look. The top, which is shown on the second picture, has somewhat shorter hairs. And the back of the cloth has longer, more fluffy hairs. Both sides of the cloth are just as soft, and in my experience both sides work just as well. However, I do think that you’re meant to use the top side only so I don’t know if it will harm the cloth using the bottom side.
The main thing I was very interested in was finding out whether or not it would really remove an entire full face of makeup without leaving residu. Especially around the eyes I was pretty sure that it wasn’t going to take everything away. But girl, I was dead wrong. I was so impressed when I first tried it. With just a bit of water and this cloth literally all of your makeup will be gone.
Because I didn’t believe it I decided to test it. After cleansing my skin using this cloth I took a cotton pad and some Bioderma and I cleansed my skin again. And guess what, the cotton pad was completely clean after doing that. Even when I went into the eye area. Everything gone! I don’t even know that many actual makeup remover products that are that effective. I’m so mind blown. I really don’t get how this works, but I love it!
There are just so many pro’s about this thing. First of all: you don’t need cleanser anymore for removing your makeup. This makes a huge difference in the amount of money you have to spend on skincare products. And second of all you don’t have to use single-use cotton pads anymore. Those things are a big waste and therefore terrible for the environment. And to be honest: who doesn’t hate spending money on cotton pads? Of course you can also use reusable cotton pads -I really want to try those in the near future- and I’m sure this won’t take away all of the cotton-pad-requiring activities, but it does minimise it.
Once you have used the cloth you can clearly tell there is some makeup on it. The first time I used it I tried to wash the mascara stains out of the cloth by hand and there’s no such thing as doing that. That definitely doesn’t work at all. You really have to pop it into the washing machine to really get rid of those stains.
And that brings me to the one and only downside about this cloth. I feel like, after washing it, not all stains have been completely removed. Okay the dirt is gone and you can hardly tell there’s been makeup stains in there, but if you look closely you can and somehow that bothers me. It doesn’t bother me enough to be negative about this cloth in any way, not at all, I love it. But it’s a minor downside.
All in all I’m really flippin’ impressed by this Magnitone Wipe Out The Amazing Microfibre Cleansing Cloth. I love the pink colour, they are incredibly soft and gentle on the skin and these are the most effective makeup removers I have ever used. They are so easy to use, they take off the makeup in just a split second and there’s no need to use any product at all. It really has improved my skin a lot so far! I highly recommend trying this!
With that being said I’m ending today’s post. Thank you so much for reading and be sure to let me know what kind of eco-friendly things you have added to your beauty routine and whether or not you’ve ever used a cleansing cloth like this one?!
