Last month one of my friends told me she bought a MAC foundation that ended up being too light for her. She knew I wanted to buy a MAC foundation (since we talked about that the day before) so she asked me if I wanted to give it a try and maybe buy it from her. I obviously agreed and the next day I was wearing MAC foundation for the first time in my life. Since I’m reviewing it today, it’s probably no surprise anymore that I ended up buying it from her, but the reasons why are still a surprise, and if you want to find out what those are, you will have to continue reading!
Let’s start off with the gorgeous packaging, the first thing I loved about this foundation. The packaging is made out of matte glass, which feels like shiny glass and a black plastic lid. I think the packaging looks really professional and elegant and I love looking at it.
The packaging contains 30 ml of foundation, which is average for a foundation. This foundation is called the Mineralize Moisture foundation, which means it’s from the Mineralize product range and it’s moisturising.
Those of you who’ve been reading my blog for a while might know that I have oily skin. Knowing that you might think it’s strange I’m currently using and reviewing a moisturising foundation. But for some reason, it just works. I’m not saying it’s mattifying, not at all to be honest. If anything it’s actually quite a dewy foundation on me, but it doesn’t really bother me that much.
I like it, I like the glow. It makes me look healthy and alive. Okay, if it’s very sweaty or humid it might make me look a little more than just healthy and alive, but after blotting my forehead and nose everything will be back to normal, no big deal.
The main reason why I really wanted to try a MAC foundation is because they have such a wide colour selection. I am very, very pale, nearly white, so for me it’s nearly impossible to find a foundation that actually matches my skin tone. This one is in the shade NW15, which stands for Not Warm 15. I personally see myself as someone with a neutral undertone, but since this one isn’t too pink, it does match my skin tone really well.
I really like having a foundation that matches me so well, I don’t have to worry about foundation lines anymore, I don’t have to bother blending my foundation all the way down my neck anymore and I don’t have to worry about being orange any longer. I absolutely love it!
The texture of this foundation was a bit surprising to me. It’s quite thin, but also a bit sticky. Not super sticky in a way you can like glue, but it has something sticky to it which makes blending it with a brush kinda hard. Therefore I prefer using the Beautyblender when it comes to applying this foundation. If you use that, your skin will end up looking absolutely flawless.
Coverage wise I’d say this foundation is a medium. It definitely doesn’t cover up everything, if you have really dark circles or a bad pimple, you definitely do need some concealer afterwards, but it’s not sheer either. It creates a great even and pretty flawless base, but if you want it to be completely clear, you do need to use some concealer.
The staying power of this foundation is pretty impressive. It basically stays in place all day, you don’t have to worry about it once it’s applied, especially not when you’re using a primer like the Nivea Aftershave Balm underneath it. It’s the perfect foundation for days you want to make sure your makeup looks good all day.
Overall I’m just in love with this foundation. It really changed my makeup game and I really never want to go back to anything else than MAC foundation. It matches my skin so perfectly and it makes my skin looks absolutely incredible. I highly recommend giving this foundation a try!
The MAC Mineralize Moisture Foundation is available at the MAC counters and online for €34,50.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you have ever tried a MAC foundation, and if so, let me know how you liked it!
XOXO, Nicole.
Zou deze foundation ook fijn zijn met een droge huid? De verpakking is inderdaad zo mooi. En de dekking lijkt me zo fijn!
