Lush Tips That I Actually Use!

09/02/2019

I think most of you guys have noticed it by now, but your girl Nicole has been using a ton of Lush products lately. A ton. It’s been a quick whirlwind of Lush lovin’ and I just can’t get enough of it. Because I’ve been using so much Lush lately I have gathered some tips and tricks about using Lush and all things that come with that. These aren’t like mind-blowing tips and tricks and most Lushies probably know them already. But if you’re new to Lush products like I was, these might come in handy. So, if you’re interested in reading about my tips, make sure you continue reading this post!

Bubble Bar Magic

I have to say that I have been struggling with bubble bars for a while. I do love the bubble bars from Lush, they are my favourite product from them. However, I just think it’s very difficult to actually use them. Lush tells you to crumble the bar underneath the tap but whenever I do that most of the bubble bar just falls into the water without being activated by the water, which leads to a minimal amount of bubbles.

To solve this problem I’ve read about using a sieve. What you do is you put a piece of the bubble bar in the sieve and keep the sieve underneath the running tap. You wait for a while until everything is fully dissolved and you’re done! This way you get so much more bubbles and it’s not as big of a struggle anymore for me to use my beloved bubble bars.

One thing you do need to know is that this doesn’t work the best with every bubble bar. There are a couple of bubble bars that you just hold under the running tab for a while and it creates enough bubbles like that. The Candy Cane Bubble Bar is an example of that. It’s called a re-useable bubble bar and it has a more ‘hard’ or firm consistency. There’s no need to crumble it up.

Cutting Bath Bombs

I know this may sound extreme or terrible to some of you guys, but I like to cut my bath bombs at least in halfs. I get really dizzy when I use an entire bath bomb so therefore I feel like splitting them in halfs is the best option. And by the way: this also saves you a bit of money. Half a bath bomb still creates a lot of spectacular activities in your bath for half the price.

Anyway, I used to cut these bath bombs in half just by taking a really big knife and putting a lof of pressure on it. Well actually, I let my mom do it because I’m not strong enough. However, this is a little dangerous and more often than not almost impossible. So I decided to look up how other people do it and I found a really easy way to do it.

The first thing you need to do is look up a weak spot in your bath bomb, a part along the middle line where it’s missing a piece. When you’ve found that, put a knife in that whole. Then you take something heavy and jam that thing on top of the knife. After jamming on it a couple of times the bath bomb will split and you’re left with two halves. How easy is that?!

Slicing Your Naked Shower Gels

This next one isn’t really a tip or a trick really, it’s just something to make your life a lot easier and make sure your product doesn’t melt away in the shower. I love the naked shower gels from Lush, but I do think it’s wasteful to just take the entire thing with you underneath the shower. Whenever it gets wet, it starts to shed product. When I just bought mine I did do a lot of googling on how to use these naked shower gels and I ended up going for the slicing method.

So, what I like to do is: I slice a piece of the naked shower gel off the bottom of the thing. I keep this in a little container that can close and I take that with me underneath the shower. When I want to use it, I open the container, take the product out and wash myself with it. In order to get it to foam you need to make it a little bit wet. Afterwards I place it back in the container and close it. After showering I do like to dry off the container to prevent it from getting moldy. It is a bit of a hustle, but I do really like the way this works.

When it comes to my naked body conditioner I do take a different approach. I just place it on on a lid of a container I had laying around and I place this right outside my shower on the ground. In a way I can easily reach it. Once it’s time to body condition I turn of the shower, take the body conditioner and smear it all over my body. Then I place it back on the lid and move on with my shower. This works even easier in my opinion, so maybe it’s an approach for the naked shower gel as well.

With that being said I’m going to end this post. I know these weren’t the most mind-blowing, never heard before or the most tips ever. But you guys, I’m rather new to the Lush craze and these tips actually helped me out a lot. So if you’re new to Lush and you struggle with using some of the products, I hope these tips help you! If you’re already a full grown Lushie, definitely let me know your top tips!

Great tips! I think cutting portions off your naked shower gel is genius – I definitely have struggled with my product wasting away when I wasn’t even using it. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
