I have to say that up and till now, the Valentines collection from Lush has probably been my favourite (okay, aside from the Christmas range). The main reason why I liked the Valentines collection so much is because it came with tons of bubble bars, and I love bubble bars. One of the bubble bars I did buy while the collection was still around but haven’t reviewed yet is the Sex (Red & Yellow) Bubble Bar. I know that Valentines day is over and that most of this collection isn’t available anymore, but I still felt like reviewing this little guy. So, if you’re interested in finding out how I like this bubble bar, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Lush ‘Six’ Bubble Bar comes in two colour combinations. There’s the blue and yellow version and the ‘red’ and yellow version. It’s called red, but lets face it, it’s clearly pink. I don’t know whether they named it red on purpose or whether someone at Lush has a hard time seeing colours, but it is just the way it is you guys. I ended up buying the yellow and ‘red’ one because I thought this was going to create the prettiest colour in my bath. I mean, I didn’t have very high hopes for the colour that would come out of blue and yellow. A green bath isn’t as appealing to me as a pink one.
The ‘Six’ Bubble Bar from Lush is (obviously) shaped like a six. However, if you have two of them and you put one upside down, it says ’69’. And we all know what that means right?! I do really like how Lush plays around with that kind of stuff. It makes these products even more fun.
The ‘Six’ Bubble Bar from the Valentines collection is one of their reusable bubble bars. This means that you can hold them underneath the running tap for a while and then put it down to dry and use it some other time. These are my favourite types of bubble bars because they last so long!

In terms of texture I feel like there’s a clear difference between the reusable bubble bars from Lush and the regular bubble bars. The difference I notice is that the reusable ones are have a more solid feel to them and the normal ones are softer and therefore easier to crumble underneath your running tap. In terms of the results I don’t think it makes much of a difference.
Okay, moving on to the product itself. I went onto the Lush site to read what Lush has to say about this bubble bar:
If you need some love like you’ve never needed love before, let two of these bubble numbers become one. With two colours to choose from, whichever way you look at it, someone’s always happy! Let spicy clove bud and floral ylang-ylang bubbles linger on the skin, leaving you smelling saucy and feeling sixy. Whether you hold it by its tail or pop a finger in the hole, just get it under running water, pop the rest on the side, then lie back and discover the joy of six.”
Lush describes the scent as spicy and floral. I think it’s more spicy than it is floral and the scent reminds me a lot of the Yog Nog Bubble Bar I bought at Christmas. Well it doesn’t remind me of that scent, it is that scent.
When you put a bit of this bubble bar in your bath your bath water will have a slight yellow and pink colour. When the tub wasn’t fully filled yet, you could actually tell the difference between parts of the water that were pink coloured and parts that were yellow. It looked really interesting. It also creates tons of nice and stiff bubbles that are always fun to play with. The scent was nice and strong, but not overwhelming. How strong the scent will end up being does obviously depend on how much product you put into your tub.
After getting out of the bath my skin felt pretty normal. It wasn’t as moisturised as the times I used a Luxury Bath Oil from Lush or some more hydrating bubble bars, but it doesn’t have a drying effect either. I’d describe it as neutral.
All in all I do think that this Lush ‘Six’ Yellow & Red Bubble Bar from the Valentines collection is pretty awesome. I love that it’s one of the reusable bubble bars and the scent is really interesting. It creates tons of nice and stiff bubbles and the way it colours the bath water is very interesting as well. By the time I’m writing this (March 3th) this bubble bar is still available online, so if you want to get it be quick and you might get lucky!
With that being said I’m ending today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of this reusable bubble bar!
