Ever since I tried the Lush Star Bright, Star Light Bath Melt I’ve been meaning to try some of the Luxury Bath Oils from Lush. I love hydrating thingies in my bath and I love good smells and these bath oils from Lush got all that and more. So, I ended up ordering a couple of luxury bath oils from Lush and one of them is this adorable Lush Polyamorous Bath Oil. It is shaped like a heart with little hearts inside and I love it. I’ve used it up entirely and therefore it’s time for me to review it. So, if you’re interested in finding out more about this adorable luxury bath oil from Lush, make sure you continue reading this post!
Like I said, the Lush Polyamorous Luxury Bath Oil looks absolutely adorable. Okay, it doesn’t look as pretty as it does on the picture on the Lush website, but the whole idea behind it is super adorable. You just simply can’t deny that. You really can’t. It’s shaped like a heart with a pink bottom and a white top and on the top it’s decorated with white and pink hearts. It is so cute. It almost looks as if it’s from the Valentines collection but it isn’t.
One important thing to know about this bath oil is that it’s not sold in all stores. In the Netherlands it’s exclusive to the Lush in Amsterdam (Kalverstraat) and Utrecht (Hoog Catharijne) according to the worker I talked to at Lush. If you don’t live near these stores, it’s going to be a product you’ll need to order.
Okay, anyway, the Lush luxury bath oils are sold naked and they melt very easily. I noticed that if you keep them in a paper bag or anything like that, a big part of it can melt away over time. Therefore I decided to purchase one of the special boxes Lush has which are made to store your bath oils in. This works really well for me.
Lush Polyamorous Luxury Bath Oil – €3,95
This Polyamorous Luxury Bath Oil is made with lots of oils and butters to hydrate the skin. The main ingredient is cocoa butter, followed by sodium bicarbonate (which is going to soften the water) and shea butter. There’s also a ton of oils in this little guy like orange oil, sandalwood oil, violet leaf oil, jojoba oil and coconut oil. In addition to that there is quite a bit of perfume in this bath oil, so I’m glad there’s enough oil and butter to counteract the drying effects of the perfume.
On their website Lush describe the product like so:
A little extra lovin’ goes a long way. Pop this melting amulet of amour into your bath and feel waves of skin-softening Fair Trade organic cocoa and organic shea butter cherish your skin.
Plumes of soft pink magic will unfurl across the water, as brightening Brazilian orange oil, alluring violet leaf absolute and grounding sandalwood notes put you in the mood.”
If that doesn’t make this sound like something you just NEED in your bath room, I’m not sure what will. It sounds absolutely incredible.
When you pop the oil into the bath it starts to melt and little pieces of pink product will swim in the water. Once the entire thing is melted or dissolved, the bath has a really pretty soft pink colour. I really like the colour because it’s more interesting than just clear, but it’s not too extreme.
As you can tell the water has gotten a bit of a cloudy look and that’s because it’s filled with hydrating oils and butters. You can feel it on your skin when you’re in the bath. You skin will immediately feel super soft. Like a lot softer than it feels when you’re using a regular bath bomb or bubble bar. It’s a whole different kind of experience and I love it.
When I got out of the bath my skin felt super hydrated. My skin was actually so nourished I didn’t even have to apply a body lotion or butter afterwards, and that’s a step I normally never skip. In this bath I had used three quarters of the bath oil, just to get the full experience. I’ve also used like a fourth of it in a bath and that’s enough to get those hydrating effects as well, so it all depends on your personal preference.
And by the way, be sure to clean your tub immediately after using this, especially if you use a big chunk of it, other wise the oil/butter will stick to the tub and it’s impossible to clean. My mom wasn’t too pleased with me when I had used this hihi.
All in all I’m very happy with this Lush Polyamorous Luxury Bath Oil. I think it’s a very adorable looking product and I absolutely love the way it makes my skin feel. It’s so hydrating and nourishing and it still gives your bath a pretty colour. I’m sure I’ll buy a couple more of these in the near future, it’s really that amazing!
With that being said I’m going to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know if you think the Polyamorous Bath Oil from Lush is just as cute as I think it is!
