Recently I gave myself the mission to try every Lush bath bomb from the permanent collection. I mean, Lush does have amazing bath bombs and I have tried so many of them already. But most of the ones I’ve tried are from limited edition collections. Lush just does so many of them, it’s hard to resist. The thing however is that Lush also has amazing bath bombs in their permanent collection, like the popular Intergalactic Bath Bomb. It’s a well known favourite of everyone and I have never even tried it. So I decided to buy it and not long after buying it I popped it into my bath and gave it a proper try. If you’re interested in finding out how I ended up liking the bomb, make sure you continue reading this post!
Like I said, Intergalactic by Lush is one of their most famous bath bombs. I think that every person who’s been to Lush knows this bath bomb. It’s seems to be one of their most spectacular bath bombs. The reason why I never really considered buying it is because I was busy buying other bath bombs, but also because it’s blue. I don’t hate blue, but I don’t love, love, looooove it either. But apparently Intergalactic is more than just blue.
From the looks of it you can already tell that there is more to the Intergalactic bath bomb than just blue. You can see some pink and yellow swirls around the bomb. These give away that on the inside there might be a big surprise waiting for you. In the case of Intergalactic that’s completely true. On the inside there’s much more pink. And also: much more glitter. From the outside you can see that there’s some glitter in here. But what I didn’t expect is that this is the most glittery bath bomb I’ve ever tried. When you pop this bomb into your tub, there will be an explosion of golden glitter. It’s absolutely stunning!
The size of the bath bomb is really nice. It’s a big bomb and it’s pretty heavy. Of course size doesn’t matter. It doesn’t always say something about how great a bath bomb is. But in this case it does. It’s amazing!
On the Lush website they tell us that Intergalactic is like bathing in deep space. It’s the cosmos in your bath room and makes you become the guardian of your own galaxy. The Intergalactic Bath Bomb is an awesome mix of refreshing peppermint and neon colour that sends your mood rocketing, while popping candy should take you on a trip around the milky way. Constellations swirl and pop, creating vibrant lustre vortexes in the night sky and the rogue layers of vetivert and cedarwood take hold, evoking the warmth of human contact far from home and a hint of 80’s aftershave.
All of that does sound very promising. I like the space-factor this bath bomb has. I always love to be mesmerised by the #bathart (oh that’s really cringy, I’m sorry) so I was ready for that. The scent description part didn’t really make a lot of sense to be. To be honest, going in I didn’t really have a clue what this bath bomb would smell like.
Having sniffed it in personal and used it twice already (yes, I liked it so much I bought another one a couple days later and used it immediately) I do now have a proper idea of what the scent it like. You can definitely smell that there’s peppermint in here, but it’s packaged in a warm yet sweet kind of scent so it’s not too overpowering. I don’t think it’s the most spectacular of scents Lush has ever created. But I like it. Definitely.
After blabbering on about things you probably don’t really care about, it’s time to pop this beauty into my tub. This is actually the first time I really tried when it comes to taking photo’s of the bath action and I have to say these pictures aren’t my best. It’s a learning proces okay. Give me some time. Anyway, even though these aren’t the best pictures I have ever made, it does clearly show how pretty this bath bomb is.
The main colour you get is blue, but there’s also some pink in it. It does definitely depend on the batch how much pink you’re getting. The second time I used it I got much more, but after all it doesn’t matter. Aside from the colour you also get some milky swirls on top of the water and best of all: tons and tons of golden glitter. Like A LOT. And that’s one thing that really surprised me. Okay I did see some glitter on the bomb when I was holding it in my hand, but this is like a glitter explosion. A golden glitter explosion. The glitter does wash away pretty easily. My mom didn’t even notice I used a glitter bomb in our tub and she has an eye for it.
Anyway, I definitely think that this is the prettiest bath bomb in the world. After a while of sitting in the tub the milky layers and the pink go away. But that doesn’t mean you’re left with boring blue water. The blue looks like a deep blue and beautiful sky and the golden glitters that float in it make it even more mesmerising. I was staring at the water the full 40 minutes I was sitting in here.
All in all I can proudly say I’ve finally found my holy grail bath bomb. I have been trying tons of bath bombs these past couple of months. But I have to say: nothing beats this. I mean would you take a look at it. It’s the most mesmerising and most stunning tub I’ve ever seen. It’s so worth the money and I’m really sure I’ll never leave Lush again without picking up one of these stunning Intergalactic Bath Bombs. You just HAVE to try it. I’m not kidding!
With that being said I think it’s about time to end today’s post. Thank you so much for reading and be sure to pick this beauty up and let me know what you think of it. Honestly, you can’t live your life without giving this a try. I’m not being dramatic.
