Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo

14/02/2019

In my latest Lush Wishlist I let you guys know I was on a hunt for the Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo. And in a recent post about the Lush American Cream Hair Conditioner I told you guys I actually bought this shampoo and conditioner. I already reviewed the conditioner, so it’s about time for me to start talking about the I Love Juicy Shampoo as well. To me these Lush haircare products are completely knew, which means that I had no idea what to expect. I genuinely didn’t know whether I was going to be loving it or hating it, but I felt like it was worth the shot. So, if you’re interested in finding out how I ended up liking the Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo and why, make sure you continue reading this post!

The Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo comes in one of their classic bottles. It’s clear and has a black cap and a black wrap around the middle. On the black part Lush lets us know what this is and what the charm of the product is. They say that it’s a fruity smoothie for your hair and that does sound really appealing. Overall I do really like the look of the bottle, although I don’t love the colour of the shampoo. To be completely honest with you it reminds me of urine and that doesn’t look as tasty as this is supposed to look. On the other hand, it does smell really good and not like urine, so it’s okay.

Just like the conditioner I reviewed not too long ago, this shampoo comes in a couple of different sizes. You can get the small size that comes with 100 grams. I think this size is great if you just want to get to know the shampoo. If you know you’re a fan you can go up to the 250 or 500 gram version. And on the Lush UK website they also have a bottle that comes with 1 kg. That’s pretty insane, but also really amazing!

The size I ended up getting is the 100 gram version. I’m just getting to know this product so I think it’s a great size for that. It will still last you a really long time so you have enough time to decide whether or not you’d like to get a bigger bottle next time and I think the price is rather okay. Compared to drugstore shampoo’s you might see this as very expensive, but considering the fact that this is from Lush and therefore a whole other level of quality, I actually think it’s pretty affordable.

Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo 100 grams – €8,95

The Lush I Love Juicy shampoo has a very fruity scent. When I went to get this in store I actually didn’t smell anything because I had a cold and the store smells very intense, but once I got to use it at home I discovered what it smells like. I do think that for a Lush product this doesn’t have an incredibly strong scent, but I actually like that about it. It’s nice and gentle, but still out there. The scent mainly reminds me of a mix of exotic fruits like pineapple and mango. And I really like that.

Looking at the ingredients I do see a lot of things I like, but also some things that aren’t as amazing. There is for example a lot of SLS in this shampoo. It’s actually the second ingredient on the list which means that there’s a lot in there. It also has perfume in it which isn’t the best for your hair and scalp either.

On the other hand this shampoo does come with a lot of great things as well, and I think that that’s what sets it apart from drugstore shampoos. Some ingredients I like are lemon oil (which absorbs oil), fresh papaya, pineapple, kiwi and mango juice, orange oil and fine sea salt (great for cleansing, volume and shine). These are all natural ingredients and great for the hair.

Since I picked this shampoo up in store I did have a little chat about it with the sales lady. She told me that this is great for a deep cleanse of the hair and that it’s a favourite of those with greasy hair. It should really get rid of the grease and make sure your hair stays fresh longer. This was exactly what I was looking for so that did make sound it like this was going to be right up my alley. I also read a lot of reviews about this shampoo which said those same things. It’s supposed to be a great, clearifying shampoo.

And in my experience that’s exactly what it is. I was in desperate need of a shampoo that was going to really cleanse my hair. Ever since I started washing my hair only a couple times a week I noticed my hair was more greasy once I was ready to wash it and that my regular shampoos weren’t able to get it out. This shampoo definitely does the trick for me. I do think it’s a rather harsh shampoo and that it’s definitely not a go-to product for either everyday washing or for those with dry hair. But as someone with greasy hair this is like a life saviour for me.

Once massaged into the hair you can already feel that you hair gets more rough. The grease has been removed. At first I was a little scared of this feeling because I thought that this shampoo was too drying for me, but in the end that wasn’t the case at all. Especially if you use this with a proper conditioner, there’s nothing to worry about.

This shampoo leaves my hair feeling, smelling and looking amazing. I feel like my hair moves around a lot more, it’s more flexible and it’s also not greasy at all. I feel like this is the best shampoo I have tried so far when it comes to keeping my hair clean for longer and I love that about it. It also adds a nice bit off shine but nothing too much so it does have enough grip for possible styling. It’s really everything I was looking for.

All in all I’m really impressed with the Lush I Love Juicy Shampoo. It’s seriously the best and most effective shampoo I have ever tried and I love how well it works for me. It keeps my hair super fresh for days and it makes it easier to work with. It makes it feel soft and look shiny without making it greasy or weighing it down. This really is a miracle from above for all of us greasy-hair-girls. So if you’re desperately on the hunt for something to cure your greasy bundle of joy, try this!

That’s pretty much it for today’s review. Thank you so much for reading today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it and be sure to let me know what you think of the Lush shampoos and whether or not you’d buy them!
