The Sparkly Pumpkin from the Lush Halloween Collection is probably the most halloween and autumn appropriate product in their entire collection. It looks absolutely stunning and adorable at the same time. Just a couple of months ago I bought two Sparkly Pumpkins through a Lush Facebook group and I fell in love with it. So when I saw it would return in this years’ Halloween collection I was over the moon. I bought two of them and immediately took a bath with it. If you’re interested in finding out what’s good about this super sparkly bubble bar, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Sparkly Pumpkin from the Lush Halloween Collection of 2019 is -like the name already suggests- super sparkly. It’s a pumpkin shaped bubble bar with an orange colour covered in golden sparkles. The whole thing is topped off with a little -I think- piece of cinnamon, resembling the stem on the pumpkin. This bath bomb is basically the perfect combination of glamorous and adorable. It’s super autumnal and it gives me these cozy vibes. In terms of looks it’s by far one of my favourite bubble bars ever.
The size of the Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar isn’t very impressive. It’s a rather small bubble bar. However, it does have impressive results. Because I’m a bit of a cheapskate I like to use this bubble bar in halfs. I think that if you use half of it you still get the full effects without having to use the entire thing at once. For me that’s just a win-win thing.
Price-wise the Sparkly Pumpkin is okay. Or well, it’s actually quite expensive for a product that isn’t that big and not meant to be reusable. If you buy it in the UK it’s more acceptable, but the Dutch price is pretty up there to be honest. I am a big fan of the Sparkly Pumpkin, but it’s pricy you know.
Lush Halloween 2019 Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar – €6,95/£4,95
Even though the Sparkly Pumpkin isn’t a new product and most of us Lushies are probably already familiar with it, let’s still take a look at Lush’ sales pitch about it:
If you’re pumped for Halloween, you’re sure to feel jacked up by this sparkly bubble bar. Crumble your pumpkin up under running water to build a mountain of soft bubbles. Lie back in the warming juniperberry and uplifting grapefruit waters as they brighten your skin and mood. Happy-making lime oil scares away the doldrums and blues, making you feel happy as a Jack who got the scream. This shimmery pumpkin is really Samhain to shout about.”
First of all Lush claims that the Sparkly Pumpkin will create mountains of bubbles. I believe that since most bubble bars from Lush do a pretty good job at that. What’s more interesting is their scent description. Lush tells us that there’s warming juniperberry in here as well as uplifting grapefruit water and lime oil. The last two ingredients sound fruity and citrussy. I honestly don’t know what juniperberry smells like, but if Lush says it’s a warm scent I believe them.
To be completely honest I don’t know what Lush is doing with their citrus scents. I don’t think citrus is a very autumnal/halloween proof scent. But on the other hand, if I smell the Sparkly Pumpkin, I don’t smell that much citrus in it. I do definitely smell more of a spicy, autumnal scent. Maybe with a touch of fruitiness to it, but not all that much. So the lesson we can learn from this is don’t let Lush scare you off with their scent descriptions!
Like I said I used half of the Sparkly Pumpkin in my tub. And just look at it. The bath isn’t even full yet and there are already mountains of bubbles forming. Aside from lots of bubbles, there’s also something happening to the bath water. This turns orange. There are golden sparkles floating through the orange and the room starts to fill with this amazing scent. I’m really impressed by what this all looks and smells like and how strong everything smells even though I just used half of the bubble bar.
I have to say that I’m pretty lazy when it comes to using bubble bars. I just crumble them underneath the tab and be done with them. But if you do decide to use a sieve and stimulate the water so the bubbles spread, the mountains of bubbles will become even more impressive.
After leaving the tub there are just a couple of sparkles left behind. By just rinsing the tub these wash away, so there’s definitely no need for a heavy scrubbing session after bathing with the Sparkly Pumpkin. I always have when you do have to clean the bath thoroughly after taking a bath. It takes away from the relaxing experience you just had.
All in all the Lush Halloween Sparkly Pumpkin is another favourite of mine. What a surprise. I feel like all the reviews I’ve done on Lush products lately are super positive, but well, I can’t help it. I genuinely think that all of these products are just very amazing and more than worth the try. I think the Sparkly Pumpkin is a product pretty much everyone would love so if you have the opportunity, really go ahead and try it. You won’t regret it!
And that brings us to the end of today’s review. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know whether or not you’ve used Sparkly Pumpkin before. And if you did, how do you like it?
Zo’n fijn ding! Hiermee bewijzen ze nog maar eens dat kleine formaatjes ook krachtpatsers kunnen zijn. Ik heb hem dit jaar voor het eerst gebruikt, maar Sparkly Pumpkin heeft er in ieder geval een fan bij!
