Oh yeah, it’s time for another Lush Halloween bath bomb review. Today we’re discussing the Punkin’ Pumpkin bath bomb from the Lush Halloween collection of 2019. It’s a pumpkin shaped bath bomb with a friendly face. At first I didn’t really want to buy it because I was already buying so much. But then again, I was already buying so much. So I did it anyway. I mean, if this isn’t the most halloween-y bath bomb ever I don’t know what is. Anyway, long story short, I used it, took pictures of it and today I’m reviewing it. So if you’re interested in finding out whether or not the Punkin’ Pumpkin bath bomb from Lush is as cute in the tub as it looks outside of the tub, make sure you continue reading this post!
So let’s start at the beginning. Talk about looks. Punkin’ Pumpkin is a brand new bath bomb in this years’ Halloween collection. Lush did have a pumpkin shaped bath bomb before, but it was different. It wasn’t as cute. This one is actually pretty adorable. It’s a flat bath bomb but a rather thick one. Therefore I think that in terms of weight, you get as much product here as you do in rounded bath bombs. Maybe a little less, I don’t know. But it is pretty heavy you guys.
Anyway, the bath bomb is orange for the most part. The little stem is green and the eyes and mouth of the pumpkin are white. I read that the white parts are glow in the dark so if you like to bathe in the dark this will look pretty spectacular. My bath bomb is sprinkled with a bit of pink as well but that’s just because it had been in a box full of other bright coloured bath bombs. Normally it isn’t like that.
Price-wise I think Punkin’ Pumpkin is okay but on the expensive side. Somehow I feel like this should’ve been an affordable bath bomb and that’s not really what it is. The price-difference between the UK and the Netherlands is pretty big too. If you convert the price in pounds to euro’s it’s a €1,28 difference!!! Thank god I ordered from the UK.
Lush Halloween 2019 Punkin’ Pumpkin Bath Bomb – €6,95/£4,95
So let’s take a look at the claims. I’m curious to see what Lush has to say about this bath bomb.
Beware the things that go punk in the night
and fill your bath to the brim with fright.
Those eyes that glow in a pitch-black room,
belong to the spooks of warm cinnamon. As the night draws in and silence falls,
All around you the darkness calls.
Don’t look, don’t scream, don’t give it power,
Cleanse the air with pumpkin powder. The bathroom’s calling,
So no more stalling –
The witching hour brings nightmares crawling.
To make the shadows retreat and recoil,
Fizz this ghoul of bright citrus oils.”
What a spooky little text. You can tell Lush did put quite a bit of effort into that. Anyway, what we also get from this text is a hint of what Punkin’ Pumpkin is supposed to smell like. Warm cinnamon, citrus oil and pumpkin powder. I like that there’s at least some kind of pumpkin in here since this is a very pumpkin-y bath bomb. That in combination with the warm cinnamon sounds very good to me. The citrus is a little misplaced in my opinion, but I have to say that the citrus isn’t that strong in this bath bomb.
In the tub I find that the bath bomb does have a really nice scent. It’s very autumnal, spicy and warm. I do think the scent smells like pumpkin but with a twist. Even though scents like this normally aren’t up my alley like that, I do really like it. I think it smells good and fits the product really well. The scent isn’t incredibly strong, but I did smell it throughout the entire time I sat in the tub.
Having said that let’s talk about the looks of it in the tub. I find the whole process of this bath bomb dissolving very interesting. It’s just super pretty and definitely bath-art material. I love that the green comes out of the stem like that and I really love the orange colour the tub gets a lot. I honestly didn’t expect to love that orange colour as much as I did.
This bath bomb is a pretty slow fizzer. It takes a while for it to completely dissolve. Once it was done I started to notice that there were pieces of something floating around my tub. To be honest I did think this was some kind of filth at first but it wasn’t. It came out of this bath bomb. Looking at the ingredients I can’t really figure out what it was, but there were a lot of little flakes in my tub. I don’t know if it’s because I initially had mistaken those flakes for filth, but I didn’t like them. I found them a little gross and they started to annoy me. Even though I liked everything else about the bath bomb, this made it a no-no for me.
All in all the Lush Halloween Punkin Pumpkin Bath Bomb was a miss for me. I like the colour of it, I like the design and the scent, but those little flakes that are inside of this bath bomb just disgust me. I’m really sad about that because at first I was so excited about it and I actually thought about repurchasing it. But well, not everything Lush makes can be totally up my alley. A miss here and there is okay!
With that being said I’m ending today’s review. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of the Halloween collection from Lush!
wow how cute it is…me and my kids gonna love it… ❤️
