Lord of Misrule was the only bath bomb from the Lush Halloween collection of 2019 that I already knew. I bought this last year and I actually really liked it. However, I don’t think I reviewed it before. This year it came back -luckily- and I obviously bought one. Being the excited women that I am I obviously used it as quick as I possibly could and that means that I am ready to review it. If you’re interested in finding out if the Lush Halloween Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb is any good and why you should or shouldn’t buy it, make sure you continue reading this post!
So from the outside the Lush Halloween Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb looks pretty basic. And to be honest, it doesn’t look super interesting. It’s a fully green, round bath bomb. And all it has to it is the little shape on top. That’s about it. Because it looks this simple it’s not the most appealing bath bomb to buy. If I didn’t know what it would end up looking like in the tub and what it smelled like I probably wouldn’t even buy it myself. But luckily I do know that and now I can enjoy taking baths with it. So guys: don’t let looks fool you!
In terms of size the Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb is really nice. It’s a pretty big bath bomb. Even though this doesn’t always say something about its amazingness, it’s still kind of nice. I mean, who doesn’t like a big bath bomb, right?!
When it comes to the price of it I also don’t think it’s that bad. It’s obviously not a cheap bath bomb, but it’s not super expensive either. The only thing I have to say about it is that it did go up in price a lot if you look at the Dutch pricing. Last year I paid €5,50 for it and now it’s gone up to €6,50. Please calm down Lush!
On the Lush website they tell us the following about their Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb:
Revel in your bath with this mischievous bomb that features a spicy herbal blend of patchouli and black pepper oil. Inspired by the ruler of the pagan Feast of Fools, Lord of Misrule has a deep green exterior that slowly froths away to reveal a rich, wine-coloured centre. Just like at the Feast of Fools, when the wine starts to flow, the popping candy crackles and the festivities begin…”
If you read the paragraph very closely you will find out that Lord Of Misrule ins’t as boring as it looks like. It has a wine-coloured centre. It’s something I didn’t really expect the very first time I bought Lord Of Misrule, but it is something I really love about it. It takes the bath art to a whole other level and makes it look so much more interesting.
In terms of scent I like this bath bomb a whole lot too. Lush describes the scent as a spicy and herbal blend of patchouli and black pepper oil. I always find it hard to really get an idea of what something smells like just by knowing the names of the scent notes, but somehow this sounds good to me. I think spicy and herbal is a great type of scent for a halloween product and I think it describes the scent very well.
And here’s a quick overview of the kind of creations Lord Of Misrule makes in your tub. I could add a million more pictures of its beauty, but I think that would be too much. As you can tell the pink -or wine coloured centre- comes out pretty quick in the process. It looks really pretty in combination with the green exterior. Once everything has dissolved, the bath water has a very deep pink/red-like colour. Very Halloween-appropriate.
At first the water will also be decorated with some stunning white, milky swirls. After sitting in the tub for a while these will disappear. But it is a nice thing to look at. I also feel like these white, milky swirls are very soft to on the skin. I like that about them.
One thing I love about Lord Of Misrule is that the scent really lingers. This really is one of those og scents that stay in your bath room until the next morning. It fills up the entire room with its great aroma. And I love that. My mom actually said that she really likes the scent of this as well. So it’s a family favourite!
All in all I think that the Lush Halloween Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb is amazing. It might look boring and simple on the outside, but it’s so much more than that. It’s one of my favourite bath bombs to be honest. I love the colour of it, the way it looks in the tub and I’m such a big fan of the fact that the scent lingers like that. It’s just a big winner!
And with that being said I’m ending today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of the Lord Of Misrule Bath Bomb from Lush!
