Back when the Easter collection from Lush launched, I went into one of their stores and picked up a few goodies from the collection. One of the things I was most excited about are the Cream Egg Bubbleroons. I actually picked up two of each colour. Not too long ago I reviewed the Yellow Cream Egg Bubbleroon and today it’s time for me to review the other one I got. The Pink & Blue Cream Egg Bubbleroon. So, if you’re interested in finding out whether or not this is more of a success in terms of colour and everything that comes with that, make sure you continue reading this post!
Like the name already suggests, this bubbleroon is shaped like an egg. The only difference between a real egg and this egg is the fact that this one has a creamy layer in between and therefore isn’t closed on the sides. But it’s still pretty close and I really like the idea of that. These Cream Eggs come in two different ‘editions’. There’s one fully yellow with some blue and pink dots all over it. And there’s this one, the pink and blue one. It almost looks like it’s pink with blue marble and I love how interesting that looks.
Because all of these Lush bath products are made by hand all of them will look differently. I’m not very selective when I buy a bubble bar/bath bomb/bubbleroon because in the end it doesn’t really matter what it looks like. It matters what it looks like in the bath. But I happened to pick out a very pretty one. Especially if you look at the picture you’re going to see just next, it’s stunning!
The main thing I didn’t like about the yellow Cream Egg Bubbleroon is the fact that it made my bath water look like urine. I didn’t really seem to think of that beforehand, but yellow isn’t necessarily a great colour to bathe in for me. Therefore I think that this pink and blue version will be way more up my alley.

But before we take a look at my bath and what it looked like when I used this (entire) bubbleroon in it, I first want to talk about the product itself. A bubbleroon is a bubble bar with a hydrating layer in between the two parts of it. This makes it a combination between a bath melt and a bubble bar and that combination works really well for me. You get the bubbles you’d normally get from a bubble bar and the soft feel from the bath melt or oil.
Both of the Creme Egg Bubbleroons from this years Easter collection smell exactly the same. I actually didn’t expect that when I was going to see them for the first time, but they do. They are supposed to smell like mint and chocolate, but I can only smell the mint in it. I don’t know if that’s just me, but for me there’s definitely nothing in there, scent-wise, that reminds me even the slightest bit of chocolate.
In terms of ingredients it’s not super unique. It has the standard ingredients in there like sodium bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar and also quite a lot of SLS. To create the scent they used spearmint oil and some perfume. To create the hydrating buttery layer in between the two parts of the eggs they used fair trade organic cocoa butter and fair trade shea butter. Some great ingredients to hydrate the skin.
Like I mentioned just a second ago, this time I used the entire thing in one bath. That’s something I don’t normally do because I think half of a bubble bar is more than enough and I don’t want to bathe myself broke. And because I don’t love too much bubble-action. But to be honest, I was a bit lazy the day I used this, didn’t feel like really trying too hard on getting proper bubbles for the picture so I used it as a whole. And well, it got me to a whole other level. Especially colour-wise. The bath turned a beautiful colour of purple. I’m really starting to think that purple is my favourite colour when it comes to bath water.
Aside from the stunning and intense purple colour, the bath also had a great and refreshing spearmint scent and a ton of bubbles. Keep in mind I didn’t do anything to really activate more bubbels. I just quickly crumbled the bubbleroon under the tap and that’s it. I’m sure that if you decide to use a sieve you’ll get even more bubbles in your bath!
The first thing I noticed when I got into the bath (aside from the fact that the water was a little too hot) is that the water felt incredibly nourishing. It’s a weird sensation because water doesn’t usually feel hydrating, but it really is when you use this thing. When I popped in my leg it instantly felt soft and smooth. After bathing in it for about 20 minutes this feeling was even more intense. My body felt like I already used body butter all over. It’s so comfortable!
All in all I’m positively surprised by the Pink & Blue Cream Egg Bubbleroon from the Lush Easter collection of 2019. I actually didn’t really expect to love it so much, but I do. I love the intense purple colour, I’m a surprisingly big fan of the scent and I absolutely adore the way it makes my skin feel. It’s so super hydrating! I’m intrigued.
And with that being said I’m ending today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know if you love bubbleroons just as much as I do!
De geuromschrijving ligt me niet echt, maar hoe mooi is dit badwater? Ik hou ook echt van paarse badjes! Doe er nog een glittertje bij en het is helemaal perfect!
