Even though I try really hard not to, there are some Lush products that -even I- overlook. One of these products is the Lush Creamy Candy Bubble Bar. It’s one of those products from Lush that I have known for ages, but somehow never realised I might give it a try some time. Until I placed a huge order after finishing my thesis. This time I decided not to hold back and even buy some products I generally overlook. It did take me a while to finally give it a try, but last week I finally did it. So it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar is actually a hidden gem, make sure you continue reading this post!
In terms of looks the Lush Creamy Candy Bubble Bar is really pretty, but also kind of boring. It’s a big pink block of powder with a tiny flower in the middle of it. I do think it looks really pretty, but it has a pretty basic shape. Those were the words I was looking for. Thank you. Anyway, it’s a very classic Lush product and it reminds me of one of the first Lush products I’ve ever tried, back in the day. But I believe the product I remember was a bath bomb, so that can’t be it. But we’re getting way off topic now.
The Creamy Candy Bubble Bar does look pretty big to me. It’s quite a heavy and thick block. On the pictures on the Lush website it looks a bit more rectangular shaped, but still really big. You can use it all in one bath, but the great thing about bubble bars is that you don’t have to. I actually decided to split it in two parts and that was more than enough to get the full results out of it.
Compared to other bubble bars from Lush, the Creamy Candy is pretty affordable. It’s less than five euro’s! I think it’s a great way to get to know Lush products without having to do a bit of splurging on it!
Lush Creamy Candy Bubble Bar – €4,75/£3,50
In terms of ingredients the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar looks quite okay. On top of the list is sodium bicarbonate (softening bath water), followed by cream of tartar and sodium laureth sulfate (combination creates the base of solid and self-preserving bubble bar). After that comes fair trade organic cocoa butter (hydrating), lauryl betaine (skin conditioner), cornflour, perfume, almond oil (nourishing), vanilla absolute (warm, comforting scent and soothing on skin), citric acid (creates bubbles), titanium dioxide, laureth 4 (helps product to mix and absorb in water), alpha-isomethyl ionone (powdery wood and floral scent), some colourants and candy flower.
After reading through the ingredient list, you’d expect this bubble bar to have a rather warm and floral scent. Yet it is a bit more sweet than just that. It’s a very candy-like scent. I wouldn’t say it smells as sweet as Snow Fairy, but it does have more sweetness to it than most Lush scents. I feel like Creamy Candy is the perfect name for this scent. With a touch of floral to it.
The thing about Creamy Candy that surprised me, is that it’s not just a bubble bar. It actually has a hydrating layer inside of it. Just like a bubbleroon does! I was so impressed by it. The first time I used it I didn’t notice that layer, but I did notice that this bubble bar made my skin feel super soft. The second time I was crumbling it into my bath I noticed that it has something creamy inside. That could explain the hydrated leg feeling!
Once completely crumbled up into the tub, the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar turns the bath water rosy pink and creates tons of bubbles. Look at how pretty it looks! It’s so cute. It really is what I call a princess bath. And I love it. The scent is nice and strong and the water feels super soft and nourishing. It’s such a great pamper moment. I love it. Even with just half of the bubble bar you already get this many bubbles and such a pretty colour. I can’t imagine what the entire thing in one bath will look like. I’m guessing it will look like heaven. Lol. Cheesy.
After getting out of the bath I felt totally relaxed. Or as I call it, I felt rosy. I felt hydrated and I smelled absolutely incredible. If I can say so myself. I’d die for a body lotion in this scent. I don’t get by I didn’t realise it much sooner, but this Creamy Candy Bubble Bar is really everything to me. It smells so flippin’ good!
Well, I think it’s clear. The Creamy Candy Bubble Bar is just absolutely amazing. I’m completely, head over heels in love with it. The looks of it are stunning, how cute is the little flower in the middle?! And it also does amazing things to my bath. I love the pink water and the huge amount of bubbles it creates. It also has some hydrating benefits to it, leaving your skin feeling super soft and moisturised!
All in all I think that the Lush Creamy Candy Bubble Bar is absolutely amazing. It’s definitely a hidden gem and I’ll be sure to stock up on it because this will be my go-to from now on!
