Okay you guys, I did try real hard not to fall for this, but I bought three of the ‘new’ Lush Community Favourite bath bomb scenten Shower Gels! I just couldn’t help myself. I stayed strong for so long, but in a weak moment I ended up placing my order anyway. And to be honest with you guys, I don’t regret it at all. I’m actually over the moon about these shower gels and I couldn’t wait to give them all a try. Now that I have given them a try, it’s time for the reviews to start pouring in. The shower gel I’m reviewing today is Sex Bomb and if you’re interested in reading more about that, make sure you continue reading this post!
The new Lush Community Favourite Shower Gels all come in bottles of 250 grams. The normal Lush shower gels are available in multiple sizes, but they didn’t want to go through that fuzz with these I figure. I don’t mind that at all actually because it forced me to get a proper amount of product and I’m very happy with that. If they did offer a smaller size I’m sure I would’ve gone for that and regretted it for the rest of my young little life. That’s definitely dramatic, but it’s true you guys.
Anyway, the design of the bottle is pretty much similar to the way all Lush shower gel bottles look. It’s a recycled plastic bottle with a black label across the middle and a black lid. It feels nice and sturdy and it has the ultimate Lush-vibes to it.
Because the bottles are clear you can see the colour of the shower gel through them. The shower gel I got, Sex Bomb, is pink so that does look extremely pretty. Just don’t look at the bottom of the bottle. Somehow these Lush shower gels always accumulate some brown coloured fluid on the bottom of the bottle. I’ve had that in my American Cream Shower Gel, my Snow Fairy Shower Gel and now in my Sex Bomb Shower Gel.
Okay, so let’s talk about the scent you guys. That’s pretty much the most important thing about a shower gel right?! Well, if you’ve ever used the famous Sex Bomb Bath Bomb, you know that it smells nice and floral but also clean and kind of ‘warm’. I’m terrible at describing scents so that’s the best I can do. Anyway, the scent of the Sex Bomb Shower Gel is very, very similar to the scent of the bath bomb. It may be even better than the bath bomb though and I’m literally head over heels in love with it.
Once my package with the shower gels came in the mail I started smelling all three shower gels. Starting with Intergalactic, which is nice, followed by Groovy Kind Of Love, which surprised me. Lastly I decided to smell Sex Bomb and it literally blew my mind. I mean, I liked the scent of the other two shower gels I got, but this is just incredible. It’s such a unique combination of scents. With the first ingredient on the list being jasmin this shower gel has a very luxurious, warm yet floral scent. That in combination with the notes of rose and ylang ylang create my perfect scent. I literally can’t imagine someone not liking this scent. I know that those people are out there too, but I really can’t get my mind around how you could dislike this scent. It’s literally EVERYTHING and I don’t say that a lot.
Fun fact time: I actually ordered another bottle of Sex Bomb Shower Gel right after receiving the bottle in the mail because I am that in love with it and I can’t bare the idea of ever living without it. I know that’s extreme, but the amount of love I feel for this scent is extreme too.
Okay, enough about the scent. Let’s talk about ingredients. This is the line up:
Jasmine, Rose and Ginseng Infusion, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Perfume, Lauryl Betaine, Jasmine Absolute, Clary Sage Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil, Fresh Passion Fruit Juice, Carrageenan Extract, Water (aqua), Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Musk, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Dioxide, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Linalool, Colour 45410, Colour 17200.
The fact that the main ingredient is jasmine, rose and ginseng infusion does really intrigue me to be honest. Most shower gels start of with water. I know that infusions are mainly water as well, but it’s different okay. I just like that Lush always kills it with these great and fresh ingredients. Okay, there’s also some perfume in here and a bit of SLS, but I can look past that. I mean, what shower gel ever has flippin fresh passion fruit juice in it?! I can’t name a single one okay.
The consistency of the shower gel is really nice. It’s a bit thicker than I expected, but it’s still a gel formula rather than a cream. It’s not that thick. The shower gel feels really softening on the skin and it’s nice and foamy. These days I like to use it with a washcloth rather than a loofah and it still gives me enough foam and that clean feel we’re all looking for.
All in all I’m really impressed by the new, or well ‘new’, Sex Bomb Shower Gel from Lush. I feel like this launch was absolutely phenomenal and even though I didn’t want to buy any of the shower gels at first I’m really glad I did anyways. Sex Bomb is literally the best smelling thing on this earth and I honestly can’t imagine anyone not loving this. I just can’t stop using it, it’s amazing!
With that being said I think it’s a proper time to end this review. Thank you guys so much for reading it, and be sure to let me know if you’ve tried any of these community favourite shower gels from Lush as well!
