I have absolutely no clue why it took me so long, but a while ago Lush launched some shower gels with the scents of their most popular bath bombs and I bought three of them. The first one, my favourite, I already reviewed. It was the Lush Sex Bomb Shower Gel. However, that wasn’t the only one I ordered. I also got Groovy Kind Of Love and Intergalactic. Today I’m going to review Intergalactic. The matching bath bomb is by far one of my all time favourite bath bombs from Lush and therefore getting this shower gel was an absolute must for me. Long story short: if you’re interested in finding out more about this amazing looking shower gel, make sure you continue reading this post!
So, Intergalactic. The bath bomb is the most incredible thing ever. It’s full of glitter and it creates a whole kind of atmosphere in your bath tub. It literally is the bomb! I’m telling you. The shower gel has a green colour, a deep green earthy colour and it’s also packed with glitter. It looks absolutely mesmerising in the bottle if you ask me.
At first I didn’t really get why they went for the colour green since the bath bomb is obviously blue, but now that I have it I do kind of get it. The thing is, blue wouldn’t have been as interesting. I think the colour it is now, in combination with the glitter, looks super interesting. It’s captivating and it makes you want to look at it for hours. Okay, let’s just speak for myself, I would want to look at it for hours. I can’t imagine that blue would’ve created the same effect.
The Intergalactic shower gel from Lush comes in a typical Lush shower gel bottle. This one holds 260 grams of product and that makes it the medium size bottle. For me this is a nice size. Even though I love shower gel, I do prefer buying this size. If it would’ve been bigger I would never be able to finish it. Sadly these Community Favourite bath bomb shower gels from Lush only come in one size, unlike their normal shower gels. So whatever your opinion is one the size, you’re going to need to deal with it.
Here’s a nice close up of the bottle. Look how pretty the shower gel is! Isn’t it amazing?! In real life it’s even prettier than it looks on the picture, can you imagine? Anyway, let’s take a quick look at the ingredients that are in this shower gel.
First on the list is fresh mint infusion. Infusions are made by soaking some sort of ingredient in water, so I see it as scented water. I also see some peppermint oil in there, as well as grapefruit oil, vetivert oil, carrageenan extract and cedarwood oil. All of these ingredients take a part in giving this shower gel its amazing scent. Looking at the ingredients you can say that the Intergalactic shower gel should smell like peppermint with a citrussy touch and to me that’s pretty much what it is.
To me the most prominent note in the scent is peppermint, so this shower gel has a very fresh and awakening scent. I really can appreciate that during these sweaty and humid summer days. It does feel very refreshing on the skin. The citrussy part makes it smell a tad bit fruity and also nice and fresh. The cedarwood is going to give the shower gel this slight earthy note that makes the whole scent come together. Normally I’m definitely not one for the minty and citrussy scents, but I do really like this one.
The formula on the Intergalactic shower gel from Lush is kind of unique to me. I have tried quite a few Lush shower gels by now and usually they just have a regular formula. They are either nice and creamy or they have this typical gel kind of formula. However, this shower gel is somewhat different. It’s thicker than the regular shower gel and it does feel a bit more slime-y if that makes any sense. I find it hard to explain but in a way the texture of this shower gel feels a bit more thick and sticky to me, more compact. Like a gelly slime kind of product. It’s still easy to use like a shower gel, but not as liquid. I hope this explanation makes any sense to you guys. I can understand if it doesn’t though.
Because of that slimy formula, the way it feels on the skin at first isn’t my favourite. However, throughout the application process that feeling goes away pretty quickly and it will just feel like a normal shower gel. It’s just a detail that I’ve noticed, but I did feel like it was worth mentioning.
Over all I like showering or well, washing my body with this Intergalactic shower gel. I usually take baths and throughout the bath I just can’t stop staring at the bottle. It looks so pretty. And it also feels amazing on the skin. The mint really refreshes you and makes you feel super clean. I love it!
All in all I think it’s clear that I’m a big fan of the Lush Intergalactic Shower Gel from the Community Favourites launch. I think this entire launch was absolutely phenomenal and I love the shower gels I bought from the range. The Intergalactic scent is super fresh and very refreshing, thanks to which it’s perfect for hot summer days when you feel especially sweaty and are in need of a good cleanse!
With that being said I’m going to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of this amazingly interesting looking shower gel!
