The last of the three Community Favourite Bath Bomb Shower Gels I bought from Lush is Groovy Kind Of Love. It’s the only scent out of the three that I wasn’t familiar with yet. I never tried the Groovy Kind Of Love bath bomb and I’m honestly not intending to. Not because I don’t like the scent, but because I don’t feel like I really need it. However, the shower gel did look really appealing to me, but it was risky. Since these community favourites are only sold online, I had no clue what I was buying and if I would even like it. In today’s post I’m going to tell you guys all about it and let you know whether or not I ended up liking the scent. If you’re interested in reading about that, make sure you continue reading this post!
Like all five (or six?) Community Favourite shower gels from this launch, this shower gel comes in a 260 ml bottle and a 260 ml bottle only. Normally Lush offers three sizes, but for this launch they didn’t really bother doing that. To be honest I don’t hate that. If they did offer a smaller size I’d probably have gone for that one and I would’ve regretted it forever. Anyway, the size of the bottle is really nice, I would describe it as a medium size. It’s filled to the rim and it will definitely last you a good couple of months, depending on how often and how much you use it of course.
The bottle itself looks really pretty to me, like all Lush shower gels do. It’s a very classic Lush-look that I love to look at. I’d love to one day put all of my Lush products on display in my bath room. That would look absolutely fantastic.
The colour of the Groovy Kind Of Love Shower Gel is orange. Bright orange. I don’t think anyone could have missed that. It looks fresh, fruity and happy to me. In candy I love everything orange, so I was pretty sure that this shower gel was going to be a hit for me as well. Other wise I wouldn’t have risked it of course.

So, let’s take a quick look at the ingredients shall we? There’s some fresh rose petal infusion in there, which is soothing and toning on the skin and also adds a great floral scent to the mixture. Next up we see SLS, which will make the shower gel foam. Then we have glycerine that will lock in moisture. Followed by sodium cocoamphoacetate, which is great for removing oil based dirt from the skin. Next up is lauryl betaine, which is great for conditioning the skin. Then we have water, we all know what that is, followed by perfume. There’s also titanium dioxide in this shower gel, which makes the bubbles look pretty.
Then we get some of the important scent ingredients, like rosewood oil, bergamot oil, ylang ylang oil and fresh orange juice. Aside from their benefits, they add an amazing scent to the shower gel. The last ingredients are carrageenan extract (which is used as a thickener, emulsifier and stabiliser), benzyl alcohol (preservative), benzyl benzoate (balsamic and sweet odor), citral (lemon peel odor), limonene (sweet, lemon-like odor), linalool (used in floral fragrances) and a colourant.
All in all the ingredient list is pretty decent. Lot’s of natural and fresh ingredients, which is something I always really like about Lush products.
In terms of scent I think the shower gel smells the way it looks. To me the scent reminds me of fresh mandarins, but with a twist. I find this a very difficult shower gel to describe and I don’t really know why. It’s very fruity and fresh. And while I though I read that the bath bomb smelled also like honey, I don’t smell that at all in the shower gel. It’s definitely not my favourite scent in the whole wide world. Compared to Lush Sex Bomb Shower Gel, this is just okay, I do really like it. It’s something completely different and I’m always a fan of that.
Because of the fruitiness this shower gel is very refreshing and uplifting. Therefore I find it a great shower gel to use either in the morning or if I shower throughout the day to give me a little pick me up. It definitely does a great job at that.
In terms of formula this shower gel is nice and creamy, but it’s also a bit thicker than you might expect. And that makes it look really funny when you’re using it. When you wash your body with Groovy Kind Of Love, you turn completely orange. It’s like spreading children’s paint all over your skin. This obviously washes off without any problems whatsoever, but it’s a fun experience.
All in all I do really like the Lush Community Favourites Groovy Kind Of Love Shower Gel. The scent isn’t what I’d usually go for, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. It’s nice and fresh and it really does give me a little pick-me-up every time I use it. It’s not a standard mandarin or orange scent, it has much more depth to it and that’s what makes it so special. Yep, I really like it!
And that brings us to the end of today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of these bath bomb scented shower gels. Have you tried one too?
