While doing my daily browse through my instagram feed while on the train I came across a product the famous Lush inventor Gary Shears created. The Lush Community Favourites Cocktail Sieve. A very popular thing to do these days is to get yourself a sieve and fill it with a concoction of different Lush products and use that to scent and colour your bath. And Gary noticed this trend and played in on it really well. He ended up creating a sieve-shaped bath bomb with a cocktail scent. With that he means a scent that is a mixture of different Lush products merged together. And because it’s shaped like a sieve, you can use it the same way you would if you were making a Lush cocktail in a regular sieve. This all sounded very appealing to me and resulted in me ordering one of these super cool bath bombs. I’ve tried it out and in today’s post I’m reviewing it for you guys. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not this bath bomb is as amazing as it sounds, make sure you continue reading!
Okay, so the Lush Cocktail Sieve Bath Bomb is shaped like a mini pink sieve with tons of glitters in the actual sieve part. The idea behind the shape is that you can put your own concoction of Lush products inside the sieve and hold it underneath the running tab to get your own Lush cocktail bath. This is something lots of ‘Lushies’ do with a normal sieve, so it’s super cool that you can now make your own Lush cocktail with a Lush cocktail sieve.
The size of the cocktail sieve isn’t super impressive. It’s a decent size for a bath bomb, but I won’t call it either ‘big’ of ‘huge’. That’s not too big of a deal, especially considering the reasonable price tag it has, but if you want to go really all out with your own cocktail, I don’t think you’ll be able to fit everything inside this shimmery pink sieve.
All in all I think the idea behind this Cocktail Sieve Bath Bomb is really cool. It shows that they listen to their fans and I like that they get so creative. I’m not someone who does make a lot of Lush cocktails, but still, it’s a really fun product to have as a Lush fan.
Lush Cocktail Sieve Bath Bomb (Community Favourites) – €5,50/£3,95
In terms of scent I’m a huge fan of the Lush Cocktail Sieve Bath Bomb. It’s cocktail scented which means that it smells like a combination of Lush product. If I had to describe the scent I would say it’s a very soft, mild and clean scent. It does have a touch of floral to it, but also a bit of a fresh linnen scent. Seriously, the scent on this bath bomb is pretty much the main reason why I love it so much (and why I ordered 2 more of them).
According to Lush the scent is made up out of a combination of Ylang Ylang, yasmin and rose. I really like the sound of this combination. I have to admit that after all this time, I still don’t know what ylang ylang actually is. But what I do know is that it smells absolutely incredible. It’s an ingredient Lush uses an awful lot and I definitely don’t hate it.
Because the scent of the Cocktail Sieve is pretty mild and soft, it’s easy to combine it with other scents. I feel like that’s one of the reasons they made sure the scent wasn’t to overpowering. I feel like the Cocktail Sieve scent goes well with pretty much everything, but I ended up combining it with a few pieces of Rose Jam Shower Jelly and a good ol’ spritz of my favourite American Cream Shower Gel. This ended up being a really good combination.
The way you use this bath bomb is a little different than you’d normally do. Normally you’d pop your bath bomb in the tub and wait for it to dissolve. With this bath bomb, you first have to hold it underneath the running tab to get the products you put inside to work and then, when the sieve gets a little weak it will break off and fall into the tub. Then you wait for it to dissolve and then you’re good to go. It’s definitely a cool experience.
Once in the tub, the scent is definitely present. Because it’s so mild, I was low-key afraid you wouldn’t end up smelling it once it has dissolved. But nothing is less true than that. The scent fills up the room and I absolutely love that. It combined amazingly with the Rose Jam Jelly and American Cream scent, which resulted in a pink goodness.
The water ended up looking really pretty as well. I wanted to keep it as pink as possible, which is why I used pink and red products only. The bath gets a milky feel to it and the silver glitters float around everywhere. The glitter is a bit of a pain in the ass to remove, I have to admit that, but it’s worth it. It’s a really amazing experience.
All in all I’m a huge fan of this new Lush Cocktail Sieve Bath Bomb. It’s from the Community Favourites collection so it’s exclusive, limited edition and only available online, but it’s all worth it. I absolutely love the scent of it and the way it looks in the tub. Even if I didn’t want to make an actual cocktail inside of it, I’d still buy it just for the scent and the way it looks in the tub. Love it!!
With that being said I’m ending today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it, and be sure to let me know if you have already tried the amazing Lush Cocktail Sieve Bath Bomb!
This looks like a lovely bath bomb – I love Lush bath bombs!
