Lush Christmas 2019 Rudolph Jelly Face Mask

25/10/2019

Another Lush Christmas product that came back this year is the Lush Rudolph Jelly Face Mask. Before I say anything I do want to mention that I’m not a big jelly person. I just don’t like it that much. I prefer normal products much more. However, this face mask looked so adorable I just had to try it. It’s a chocolate mousse mask with a sparkly red nose. Who can resist that? In today’s post I’m going to review it for you guys. So if you’re interested in finding out more about this red-nosed face mask, make sure you continue reading this post!

The Lush Christmas Rudolph Jelly Face Mask comes in a clear, plastic jar. It’s the same pot as other jelly products from Lush are packaged in. I honestly don’t know why these just come in a black pot like most other Lush products, but okay. It’s just a packaging you guys. Good to know is that these packagings from Lush are all part of their recycle program. This means that both you can get a free mask in return for 5 empty pots and that this packaging is made from recycled plastic. Win-win!

Anyway, the Lush Rudolph Jelly Face Mask comes with 60 grams of product. It’s not a super huge amount, but it still will last you a couple of uses. Depending on how much you need and/or use per usage, this jar will lest you for about three to five times.

The little red nose that comes with the mask will last you one time. Or at least if you use the entire thing. You can obviously put it back and use it again the next time, but I don’t think that’s very hygienic. I would suggest just using it once and then tossing it out. It’s a nice touch, but it’s not necessary.

Lush Christmas 2019 Rudolph Jelly Face Mask 60 grams – €11,50/£8

So let’s take a look at what Lush has to say about their Rudolph Jelly Face Mask:

Rein supreme and take flight with tangerine that illuminates like a starry sky. Sleigh excess oils with absorbent Fuller’s earth and rhassoul mud. Meadowsweet and orange peel infusion tones whilst carrageenan extract softens arctic skin. Sing merrily on high and let brightening tangerine and Brazilian orange oils give you a glow bright enough to light up the north pole.”

I have to be honest with you guys and tell you that this little piece of text sounds a bit abracadabra to me. I don’t even know if that’s a real word, but I’m sure it makes sense to some of you guys. What I get from it is that this face mask will give you nice and glowy skin and that it will absorb excess oil. Both of those things do sound very good to me and quite frankly are the two things I most often look for in a skincare product.

Aside from that I feel like this jelly face mask is filled with some proper ingredients. Most Lush products are, so that’s not a real big surprise to me if I’m being honest.

Having discussed all kinds of things about this mask let’s move on to talking about my experience with it. When you look at the little demo on the Lush website using this jelly face mask seems fairly easy. You just scoop out a bit of product and smear it all over your face. But somehow in real life it isn’t as easy as it seems. Or well, it isn’t that easy for me. Maybe it’s just a problem I personally have with it.

What makes it difficult for me to use this mask is that it doesn’t seem to smear that easily. Somehow it stays in that jelly form and it ends up being like pieces of mask all over my face instead of a layer of product. It then feels like the mask doesn’t do that much for me. I don’t know what it is, am I using it wrong? I really don’t know. I’ve tried to use this mask multiple times but it never seems to work for me.

So if I have to be honest, I don’t think this face mask does much for my skin. It’s fun, it smells good and I like the little red nose in it, but that’s about it. I don’t feel like my skin gets much from it. My skin doesn’t feel necessarily more soft, smooth or shiny or anything like that after using this face mask. It’s just the same.

All in all the Lush Rudolph Jelly Face Mask is definitely adorable but it’s not for me. I’m not big on jelly products and this proves it. I might be using it wrong, but I just can’t work with this product. I can’t deal with it. And in addition to that it just doesn’t do much for me skin. I really wanted to have it because it looked this cute but that’s definitely all that there is to it for me. So sad!

With that being said it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know whether you prefer the normal face masks or the jelly face masks from Lush!

Jammer dat deze je niet bevalt! Zou het misschien kunnen dat je het product in je hand moet mengen met een klein beetje water? (Ik zeg maar wat, ik heb nog nooit eerder een Jelly Face Mask gebruikt.)
