This year was the first year ever in which I bought some products from the valentines collection from Lush. It’s the first year I’m actually actively looking at their limited edition collections and so far I’m definitely loving it. Normally I am more of a bubble bar kinda gal, but somehow this Aubergine Bath Bomb from the valentines collection did really catch my attention. It has the 29 High Street scent (which is supposed to smell like a Lush store) and it looks like the aubergine emoji. What’s not to love?! Anyway, I bought it, I tried it and today I’m going to review it for you guys. So, if you’re interested in reading about my experience with this funky looking bath bomb, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Lush Bath Bombs are all naked, which means that they don’t come with any packaging. I think that’s such a good things, since it’s so not necessary to put a product like this in any kind of packaging. However, when you buy it in store they do put a little bag around it. That’s great because otherwise it might break in your bag or leave a lot of traces in your bag. But when you order it only it does arrive completely naked, without any packaging at all. For storing I do like to put it in a little bag, but I do reuse them after finishing the products inside so that’s okay to me.
Okay enough now about the nakedness of this product. I don’t think that’s something new to anybody but okay. Okay, the Aubergine Bath Bomb looks like the famous Aubergine emoji. I think anyone knows what this resembles when used on social media. Well, that’s why it’s in the valentines collection. And I like that. I like how they combined a social media thing with an actual product. That’s pretty cool.
The bath bomb is made with purple and green powder. At least, that’s what you see on the outside. Lot’s of bath bombs actually have a colourful surprise hidden on the inside, which you can only see when you’re actually using the product in your tub (or when you cut the bomb into halfs).
Lush Aubergine Bath Bomb – €4,95
On the Lush website they tell us the following about this Aubergine Bath Bomb:
Because sometimes words just aren’t enough. After swiping right, the easiest way to
express our feelings is with the power of an emoji. When you need something that really hits the spot, pop this bath bomb into the water and enjoy a steamy soak with uplifting bergamot, fruity ho wood and saucy litsea cubeba. This tongue in cheek product shoots green and blue foam from both ends so you can give someone the gift of a fast fizzing tip this Valentine’s Day. “
Doesn’t that sound fun?! A fizzing tip with blue and green foam? That sounds very, very interesting. In terms of scent they tell us it has bergamot, ho wood and litsea cubeba in it. And this should make this bath bomb smell like an actual Lush store. Well, if you’ve ever been to a Lush store, you know that this is an amazing scent. However, when I first went into a Lush store to give this bath bomb a sniff, I didn’t like it so much. But now that I have it at home and can smell it without breathing in all kinds of other things I have come to the conclusion that I really like the way this smells. I really, really do.
Okay, well, I popped the fizzing tip in the bath and it was absolutely incredible. Those of you who know me know that I’m normally not big on bath bombs, but this particular one completely won me over. First of all because of the scent. This actually literally smells like a Lush store. That’s just amazing, no discussion possible. It’s the best scent Lush has ever created and it would definitely be one of the top reasons for me to decide and get a million more of these Aubergine bath bombs.
Second of all I loved the way the bath bomb looked in my bath. I have to admit that I didn’t use the whole thing at once because that’s just too overwhelming for me. So if you want visuals of what that looks like, definitely check out the lovely Lush-blog from Evelien <3. But even if you use it just partly, it looks incredible. My bath water turned purple and had a lot of dimension to it. Because this bath bomb isn’t just purple, it also starts spreading blue colour after a couple of seconds.
In addition to that there was also some glitter involved. Now I have to admit that I try to use as little glitter as possible because my mom hates it so much in her bath. But it was mesmerising. I mean it looked absolutely stunning. Like I was in a galaxy full of glitters. I couldn’t stop staring at the bath water.
All in all this Aubergine Bath Bomb from the Valentines collection from Lush completely stole my heart. The scent is literally the best thing I have ever smelled in my entire life and 100% a reason to buy 10 more of these if I still get the chance to do so. I also love how spectacular it looks in my bath. The colour and even the glitter really mesmerised me. I’m obsessed with this little guy. If you still find yourself in a position where you can buy one of them, don’t do so and leave them for me. Just kidding, go get yourself one tiger, you won’t regret it!
With that being said it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you so much for reading today’s review and be sure to let me know which products from the Lush Valentines Day collection you like the most!
Oh heerlijk!
Paars blijft zo’n prachtige kleur.
