Lush American Pie Naked Body Conditioner

06/02/2019

When I went into the Lush store to give the American Cream Shower Gel a sniff, the sales lady did a little demo with the American Pie Naked Body Conditioner on me. I was mesmerised but at that moment I wasn’t sure yet about actually getting it, so I went home with just the shower gel. It didn’t take long (read: about 30 minutes) until I realised that this body conditioner is really flippin’ amazing. My hand felt so soft and the scent is just incredible! So, when I decided I wanted to place an order on the Lush website I decided to order one of the American Pie Naked Body Conditioners with it. And there you have it. When it came in I took pictures of it immediately and that evening I used it for the very first time. I’ve been using it a little longer now and therefore I think it’s a great idea to review it. So, if you’re interested in finding out whether or not the American Pie Naked Body Conditioner is worth the buy, make sure you continue reading this post!

Since this American Pie Body Conditioner is naked it doesn’t come with any packaging. It’s just a little block of conditioner. I really like these naked products from Lush. I think it’s a great step to a world with less waste and I also think that it creates awareness across us beauty-lovers. Packagings are unnecessary! And by the way, how cute does it look? I love the look of the cream-coloured bottom with the pink top. It looks like an actual cake! And it smells like that too. Because it’s naked you can smell it throughout the entire room you’re keeping it in. That’s another big plus if you ask me!

If you don’t like the naked products from Lush or you just prefer having it in a little container, they also sell this like that. I like that they have both versions in their collections so people can get used to the idea of naked products and aren’t forced into it. But if you ask me: I’d get the naked one. It’s so much more fun and it looks so much cuter!

The only downside to naked products that I have experienced so far is that it’s a bit more work. I mean, you don’t want your product to melt, it has to dry somewhere since you can’t dry it with a towel or something like that. So it’s a bit more of a hustle. However, because I like the idea behind it so much I totally don’t mind it. I’d gladly spend some extra time on using this if that means I’m more eco-friendly.

Lush American Pie Naked Body Conditioner – €14,95

A body conditioner is actually something different than a body lotion. That’s something I didn’t know when I first bought a body conditioner. Anyway, a body conditioner is actually like a conditioner for your hair. You use it while you’re in the shower and you rinse it off after a short while. After that your skin should feel super moisturised and soft and there’s no need to use another body lotion afterwards. I do think that’s really convenient since all I want when I get out of the shower, is to get dressed.

Since this is naked and I do feel like it would melt if I kept it with me throughout the entire shower, I like to keep this on a little plate right outside of my shower. When I have finished washing my body, maybe my hair and whatever else I need to do when I’m in the shower, I turn off the tap, open up the door and grab this. Then I move it all over my body and put it away again. I massage the product into the skin using my hands and wait for a couple of minutes. Not too long because it does get cold when you’re wet and not covered by anything, but just a short amount of time. After that I turn on the tap again and rinse the body conditioner off my body. Then I get out of the shower, pat my skin dry and I’m good to go. It’s that simple.

And honey, I know what you’re thinking: “is it actually moisturising?” or as moisturising as a body lotion. Well it is. It’s actually a lot more hydrating than I expected it to be. Compared to a regular body lotion or butter this is heaven for your skin!

Like I said this is a super moisturising product. I noticed that immediately when I was using it for the very first time. It’s not a very thick or heavy feeling product, but it’s just so effective. My skin felt like satin afterwards. It even had a gorgeous glow to it. The day after I went to my boyfriend and let him feel my legs and he was even impressed by how soft they felt. And I didn’t even tell him I used this! If that doesn’t mean anything to you, you might have to reconsider some things in life. I was amazed by it.

Aside from the gorgeously moisturised skin this body conditioner leaves me with, it also has the most amazing scent ever. It’s the American Cream scent and I love that. However, I do think that this body conditioner is less strawberry like and a bit more vanilla-y. I don’t hate that about it, but I noticed it. The scent has a nice strength. It isn’t overwhelming but you can smell it. Even when you get out of the shower. Especially if you layer it with the matching shower gel. That’s just a match made in heaven!

One thing I think is rather important to mention is that a little bit of this goes a long way. They first time I used it I went to town. I really did. I hit every part of my body (well, not literally EVERY part, but like, the normal parts) with it and that was extreme. You can do it, it works, but that way your product won’t be living a long and happy life. I noticed that if you use a little less, like one ‘stripe’ across each leg it’s enough as well. It will leave you with the same hydrated feel, but you use much less product.

All in all this American Pie Naked Body Conditioner from Lush really stole my heart. It’s my first ever naked body conditioner and that’s really exciting as well. The scent is just amazing, I absolutely adore it, and I just can’t believe how well it moisturises my skin. I mean it’s incredible. This is much, much better than any body lotion/cream/butter or anything like that ever. You just NEED to try this. If this scent ain’t up your alley, fine, just get another one. But this stuff is heavenly!

With that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it and be sure to let me know if you have ever tried one of the (naked) body conditioners from Lush?
