When Spring comes around the corner I always feel the need to switch up my makeup a little bit: especially my lip makeup. During the darker months I like wearing red tones and some deeper colours, but when the sun starts to shine again, I do really enjoy wearing some lighter shades like pinks, nudes and corals. A while ago I came across this gorgeous lipstick that fits that image perfectly. If you’re interested in reading more about it, make sure you keep on reading!
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while now know how much I love the L’Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks. I think that they’re not even close to being as popular as I think they should be. But before I get into the reasons why, I’ll start off with telling you something about the packaging.
The L’Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks all come in this shiny silvery packaging. On one hand I like it, on the other hand I don’t. The main reason why I don’t like it is because they always put a safety sticker on it in stores and when you try to get it off you’ll be left with some leftover glue which shows up really well on these lipsticks. But aside from that I do think it has something special to it, which makes me like it.
I already have three colours from the Rouge Caresse range, so I’m not new to them. The one I chose to buy this time is this really pretty nude light pink colour called Innocent Pink. It’s a very settle colour which I think is perfect for Spring but also really perfect for those days you have quite a lot going on on your eyes already and you want to keep the lips a bit more simple.
The thing I like so much about these Rouge Caresse lipsticks is that they have a very nice texture and finish to them. If you’re into matte and heavily pigmented lipsticks, these are not for you. If you’re into shiny and semi-sheer lipsticks like I am, these are the way to go.
As you can tell this lipstick isn’t the most pigmented thing you’ve ever seen, but that’s why I like it. I like it when, especially bright, lipsticks are kinda sheer or at least buildable so that even when you’re not in the mood for a bright lip, you can still wear something fun on your lips. These Rouge Caresse lipsticks are exactly like that. And they’re definitely buildable too, so if you do want some more colour, you definitely can.
Another reason why I’m so in love with these lipsticks is because they’re insanely comfortable to wear. They feel like a lipbalm. They feel moisturising, light weight and comfortable and that’s basically everything I want in a lipstick. The only downside to this is that it doesn’t last as long as for example a matte lipstick. But for a regular lipstick it’s still not disappointing. On me it lasts about 2 to 3 hours, and when it has completely faded your lips will still be slightly tinted.
Overall I’m very positive. I already loved the lipsticks from this range and I still do. This colour is really pretty and perfect for Spring. It’s definitely one of those colours you get a lot of ear out of because it’s so neutral and versatile, it goes with pretty much every look. I absolutely love it and highly recommend giving it a try!
The L’Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks are available at the drugstore for €14,95.
