A while back I stumbled upon some ‘new’ L’Oreal lipglosses. I had never seen them before yet and they did look very appealing to me. At the time I was just starting to get more and more into lipgloss, which made me very curious to see what these L’Oreal ones would be like. I ended up just ordering one, just in case it would suck. I ended up going for this really pretty nude colour called Protest Queen. After trying it for a while I think it’s about time for me to review this little guy. So, if you’re interested in finding out what this lipgloss is like and whether or not it’s worth purchasing them yourself, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s just start off with the basics, the packaging. The L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Lipglosses come in these really pretty tubes. In terms of shape they are quite similar to the basic lipgloss packaging, however these are a little shorter and a bit thicker. And instead of just being square shaped this one has somewhat more rounded edges, if that makes any sense at all. The reason why I like it so much is because it’s a little shorter than your regular lipgloss packaging and I think that makes it look really cute.
The tube itself is clear and it has some black details. The wand itself is also black, aside from the little spongy thing of course. The applicator has quite an odd shape and that did surprise me at first. Normally speaking I do prefer a basic doe-foot applicator. Every time a brand comes up with something new it doesn’t really work for me. This applicator isn’t necessarily the worst thing I have ever tried and it’s not like it doesn’t work at all, but I still much prefer the regular doe-foot applicator. However, this one does give you a little more precision because of it’s pointed end.

The shade I bought this lipgloss in is called Protest Queen. Protest Queen is this really pretty pinky shade. It’s quite a milky colour and therefore it is a little lighter than the nudes I’d usually wear. Normally shades like this don’t really suit me that well, but somehow I did expect this to look really pretty on me.
Sadly it does turn out that Protest Queen isn’t really a shade for me. As you can tell on the swatch you’ll see in a second this colour turns out to be even lighter on the lips than I already expected and that’s just not a good look for me. I can definitely imagine this looking really pretty on other skin tones and undertones, but for me this just isn’t a great look. Sadly.
Anyway, let’s start talking about the claims. According to L’Oreal their Infallible Mega Lipglosses give you instant luscious lips. They are formulated with hyaluronic acid and high-shine colour pigments, so you can expect hydrated, glossy lips without the sticky finish. With an innovative wand and tip that contours the shape of your lips, the lipgloss should deliver sumptuous colour and allows mistake-free application for a picture-perfect pout.
Overall they are making it sound like a very nice lipgloss. Especially the part where they claim that the formula isn’t sticky really caught my attention when I first read about this lipgloss. They also make the applicator sound very amazing, but as you’ve already read that part isn’t necessarily my favourite.
As you can tell the lipgloss isn’t the most pigmented thing in the world. From a lipgloss I don’t expect it to be very pigmented and it doesn’t say it will be very pigmented, so the fact that it is rather sheer isn’t a big deal to me at all. What it does claim is that it adds a very pretty luminous shine and that it does. It might not be that visible on the picture, but looking at it in real life this lipgloss definitely adds lots of shine to the lips.
L’Oreal also claims that this lipgloss is hydrating because of the hyaluronic acid in its formula. That part I do agree with, definitely. I really think that this lipgloss feels very different on the lips than any other lipgloss I have ever tried. It’s a very soft feeling lipgloss, it feels like you’re putting a blanket on your lips. You can also feel that it’s going to be hydrating. All of this makes it a very comfortable lipgloss to wear and definitely not one I’d get annoyed with after an hour or so.
In terms of staying power I wouldn’t say this lipgloss is that impressive at all. It does transfer pretty quickly onto other things and it doesn’t really survive a meal or a drink. So if you do eat and drink regularly throughout the day, prepare for lots of re-applications.
Overall I think that the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Lipgloss is a very decent lipgloss. They have tons of shades which is nice and the formula is just really nice. It’s an incredibly comfortable lipgloss to wear and I’m actually convinced that it does hydrate my lips. Overall I don’t think it’s that special of a lipgloss, but I do really like the quality of it.
That’s everything for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what you think if this L’Oreal Lip Cream and also let me know if you have any experience with them!
