Last Monday I showed you guys what I bought during my latest shopping trip to Germany. The product I was most excited about was the L’Oreal Delicate Flowers Gel-Cream Wash. Because I was so excited about it I immediately started testing it out and today it’s already time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about this gorgeously packaged skincare product, make sure you continue reading!
Like I said I think the packaging is gorgeous. I just want to start off by saying that. The product comes in a very slim but long tube. The tube is, for the most part, light pink and has a little petal on it. I think it looks very classy and quite luxurious and I just love it. I’ve never been a fan of L’Oreal packagings when it comes to skincare, but this is right up my alley.
For those of you who aren’t familiar yet with this Deliciate Flowers range, it’s a rather new collection filled with products for dry and sensitive skin. The products in this range are all meant to cleanse your skin and get rid of your makeup without making your skin feel irritated or dried out. The complete collection consists out of a total of five products:
- Cleansing creme/butter
- Soft toner
- Cleansing wipes
- A face wash (the one I’m reviewing right now)
- Cleansing milk
Having discussed that, let’s move onto the actual product. When it comes to cleansing my skin and removing my makeup, I enjoy using a face wash underneath the shower that will get rid of pretty much everything. I like it to be quick, easy and simple. The problem I usually end up having with such products is that they either don’t remove all of my makeup or they make my skin feel incredibly dry. Since this collection is aimed at dry and sensitive skin I felt like this was a great option for me to try, maybe this would be different. Maybe this will turn out to be the perfect product for my skin.
Before I reveal whether it ended up being the best thing ever or not, let’s first go through the claims L’Oreal makes. According to L’Oreal this product, with extracts of rose and Jasmine flowers, is a cleansing gel-cream wash for soft, comfortable and fresh skin. It has a rich gel-cream texture that emulsifies in water and transforms into a creamy foam that cleanses and softens the skin without drying it out. It’s also free of soap and alcohol and you can use it on a daily basis.
All together L’Oreal makes it seem like quite an amazing and innovative product. I mean, lot’s of brands claim their cleansers to be soft and whatever, but I honestly have never seen nothing like this before. Especially not in the drugstore.
But is L’Oreal actually speaking the truth? Well, overall I think they do. Obviously they exaggerated a little, but their claims aren’t lies. The texture of the gel-cream is really nice, it almost looks a little pearl like. It’s very soft and smooth and it feels really gentle on the skin. Because it’s free of soap it won’t turn foamy once applied on the skin, it will stay soft. After massaging it into the skin and washing it off the skin feels extremely soft and taken care of.
Aside from making my skin feel nice and soft, this product does a great job at removing literally all of my makeup at once. I’ve tried a ton of cleansers in my life, but this is one of the three only cleansers that actually remove every bit of makeup. And let me remind you: I do like to wear quite a lot of very long lasting makeup. It’s really impressive that such an affordable cleanser manages to do that!
After using this cleanser for a while I have noticed that my skin feels way better now. I used to feel pretty dry right after I took a shower but ever since I’ve started using this product, that’s not a problem anymore. I also really like that it doesn’t irritate my skin and especially that it doesn’t irritate my eyes (since that’s a super sensitive and easily irritated area of my skin). I’m really impressed by the quality of this product and even if you don’t have dry or sensitive skin like me (I have oily skin), it’s still a great product to try out!
The L’Oreal Delicate Flowers Gel-Cream Wash is available at DM Drogerie for €4,95.
And that concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which cleanser you like using for taking off your makeup!
XOXO, Nicole.
* ps. in some countries this range is called Fine Flowers instead of Delicate Flowers
