A while ago Ici Paris was having their annual mascara deal and I stocked up on some of my favourites mascara’s. But aside from repurchasing the ones I knew I loved, I also decided to get one that I hadn’t tried before. This ended up being the famous Le Volume De Chanel Mascara. It’s a mascara I’ve heard tons and tons of things about and it’s from Chanel. And so far, I’ve been loving Chanel mascara’s to absolute pieces. So, long story short: I went in and gave the famous Le Volume De Chanel Mascara a try and today I’m going to review it. So if you’re interested in reading everything there is to know about the Le Volume De Chanel Mascara, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Le Volume De Chanel Mascara comes in a very classic looking Chanel box. The box is shiny black, has white text on it and has a golden lining around the bottom. Very classic. When you open it up the actual tube of mascara reveals itself. The packaging is very plain and simple, but also very sleek. The tube it rounded and slightly thicker than usual, and it has the name of the brand ‘Chanel’ written on it in white. It also has the Chanel logo on top. Aside from that the packaging is just plain black. And I like that about it. I think it looks very classy and chic.
The thing I like about this packaging is that it does feel very well made. The tube doesn’t feel like it’s made out of plastic and it feels nice and sturdy. It’s not one that is going to look beat up after using it a couple of times or travelling with it every now and then. It’s just nice and sturdy.
The mascara comes with a total of 6 ml of product. I went online to compare this to some other mascara’s I know and love and found out that 6 ml is not an awful lot of mascara. Most mascara’s I found (in the same price range) come with about 10 ml of product. It’s a 4 ml difference, but considering the fact that you only get 6 ml I think this 4 ml makes a big difference.

Having discussed the packaging, let’s take a look at the wand on this mascara. The wand is one of the most important things about a mascara in my opinion and I think this one looks really, really good. The wand is pretty hick and it has rather short hairs. It looks like it’s loaded with mascara. All in all this mascara wand looks like it’s right up my alley. It’s exactly what I look for in a mascara. It looks like it will add volume but also allow you to have enough control to apply it neatly and separate the lashes really well.
According to Chanel their Le Volume De Chanel Mascara is a mascara that offers instant volume from the very first stroke for longer, plumper and thicker lashes. The lashes are supposed to be coated in deep colour, giving the eyes a wide-open look. It has a blend of waxes that create the instant volume effect and it has a rapid-drying acacia gum to set the curl defined by the brush and intensify the volume with each stroke. The film-forming agents preserve the suppleness of the lashes and offer an even volume result. The brush should sculpt volume thanks to its disks that are stacked and oriented for an impeccable finish and their quick-drying formula helps build a customised volume result.
All it all it sounds like a mascara that is very well thought-out. I like that. I like it when they created a mascara with such attention because it does make it sound more promising. Because I have been in love with other Chanel mascara’s for so long, I did have pretty high expectations when it comes to the Le Volume De Chanel.
And as you can tell, I’m definitely not disappointed. What a volume! I love it. On a daily basis I do like to use a lash curler before mascara, but for these pictures I didn’t use one. My lashes aren’t specifically stick-straight, but they don’t have a lot of curl to them either. I feel like the Le Volume De Chanel Mascara really enhances that natural curl and makes my lashes look even more curled. This curl will hold all day long without fail and therefore it gives my eyes are more feminine look.
In terms of volume I’m just blown away. I mean look at that difference. This mascara really does add a ton of volume within a single coat. It really builds the lashes, makes them nice and thick and gives them an intense black colour. And all of that without making my lashes look clumpy. Oka, my bottom lashes might look a little bit clumpy on these pictures, but keep in mind I didn’t do a very good job at the application at the time I was taking these swatches. And even if I were, I don’t think they really clump together or that it looks bothering.
In terms of staying power I do think that my beloved Dimensions De Chanel Mascara is a little better, but this isn’t a disappointment either. My lashes do stay nicely coated and curled all day long, but throughout the day they do get a little less volumized as they were at the start.
All in all I really like the Le Volume De Chanel Mascara and I totally get why it’s such a popular product. I think this is a genius mascara that would work amazingly for literally anybody. Of course it’s an investment, but for me it’s worth it because it’s so fool-proof and because the effect is just unbeatable. I really, really think that the Le Volume De Chanel Mascara is worth every penny and therefore I highly recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for the best mascara on earth.
And that’s pretty much it for today’s post. Thank you so much for reading it and be sure to let me know which mascara is your all time favourite and if you have ever tried a Chanel mascara too!
