Back when I was on vacation in Lille with my mom I came across the La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Legere moisturiser. I was very intrigued by it, but I hadn’t read enough reviews about it in order to know whether it was something for me. Therefore I let it go that time. Later, when I was ordering some new skincare products online I saw it again and this time I did decide to buy it. I had heard good things about it by now and it just seemed like a really nice product for my skin type. Long story short, I’ve been using this La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Legere for about 3 months now, so I feel like it’s about time for me to write a review about it. If you’re interested in finding out what it is like and if it’s something your skin could benefit from, make sure you continue reading!
The reason why the La Roche-Posay Hydraphese Intense Legere first caught my eye is because of its packaging. The moisturiser comes in a plastic tube with a pump on the bottom of it. The tube itself is blue and the rest of the packaging is white. I don’t know what it is about it, it’s very La Roche-Posay-like, but I love it. I especially really love the blue. The bottle itself has a decent size. It’s compact enough to take with you on the go, but it’s big enough to fit 50 ml of product. I do think that 50 ml is a pretty decent amount of product to get in a moisturiser so I’m happy about that.
My favourite thing about the packaging has to be the pump. I mean how convenient is that? And how hygienic. It’s definitely not something you see everyday on a moisturiser tube like this one. But the pump isn’t just convenient and hygienic, it also works really nice. It dispenses just the right amount of product, not too little, not too much, so nothing will go to waste. I really like that about it!

Having said that, let’s talk about the claims La Roche-Posay has made regarding this moisturiser. According to La Roche-Posay their Hydraphase Intense Legere is a very highly concentrated hydrator that allows 24 hours of hydration. It contains hyaluronic acid, which is a powerful hydrator and in combination with thermal water this creates the hydrating effect of the moisturiser. The moisturiser will add hydration to the skin, which is great if you’re suffering from dehydrated skin, and it will strengthen the skin barrier so the hydration will last. The texture of the moisturiser is supposed to be light and fresh and not greasy.
Overall this seems like a great product for me. I do struggle with really understanding what my skin type is, but so far I think it’s oily and/or dehydrated. I have discovered that products that are very hydrating but not greasy work really well for me and therefore this moisturiser seems to be right up my alley. However, are the claims they’re making true?
Well, in general I do think they are. The moisturiser has a really nice lightweight and fresh texture. It’s thin but not runny and therefore it feels very weightless on the skin and it sinks in within seconds. It’s definitely not one of those moisturisers that will leave you with a greasy or heavy layer on the skin. It’s perfect for oily-skinned girls!
It’s also a very nice moisturiser to spread across your face. A little bit of this product goes a very long way, thanks to which this tube will last you for quite some time. It also has a very soft feel to it, which is nice when you’re blending it in. The fresh accent in this moisturiser adds to that experience too. It makes it even more comfortable to work with the product and it helps to wake you up in the morning.
When it comes to actually hydrating the skin I have to say I’m very positive. It might not seem like the most hydrating product when you first look at the texture, however it really is. The moisturiser is capable of hydrating my skin all day long and making sure my skin doesn’t feel dry or dehydrated. Because of that my skin looks more healthy, fresh and less dull. Especially the dull part is very important to me because I’m often exhausted and that’s something that will be visible in your complexion if you don’t do something about it.
I also feel like this moisturiser is amazing to use underneath your makeup. Because it’s very lightweight you don’t have to wait forever until you can finally start applying your primer and foundation, and because of that texture your makeup won’t slip and slide everywhere. It will make sure everything goes on smooth and easily.
Overall this La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Legere Moisturiser really surprised me. I did think it was going to be really nice, however I didn’t expect it to be this amazing. I think that it really does what it claims it will do and that’s really nice. I really like how lightweight it is and how hydrating it is at the same time and I love how nice it works underneath my makeup. Yup, this is definitely a big favourite of mine!
That’s everything for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of this moisturiser and which moisturiser is your current favourite!
