La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mousse Purifante

12/05/2017

I don’t know if you guys remember, but back in the day when I just started my blog and wrote my first empties post I  wrote that I had used up a small tube of the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel. I loved it and I really wanted to buy the full size, but I never actually did. Until recently, when I actually bought three 400 ml bottles of it. Today it’s time to write a proper review about it. If you’re interested in finding out if I still love it as much as I did back then and why, make sure you continue reading!

Let’s start off by discussing the packaging. I bought a huge size of this purifying gel, which is why it comes in a huge bottle with a pump on it. The smaller sized version comes in a tube. There’s a blue version of the tube but I’ve also seen a white version. Anyway, the product is the same in all of them so let’s not worry about that too much. The one I bought comes in a big blue bottle with a white pump on it. It looks very clean and simple but it does represent the brand really well in my opinion. It also looks very professional, which I like.

Moving on to the product itself. The Effaclar range from La Roche-Posay is made for oily sensitive skin. It’s a combination you don’t see that often and therefore there aren’t a lot of skincare products made for those problems. I think it’s great that La Roche-Posay changed that, because I do think that there are a lot of people out there who are desperately in need of something like this!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel – €13,95 (200 ml)

This particular product from their Effaclar range, the Purifying Foaming Gel is a soap-free cleanser. It could be used underneath the shower or just at your sink to cleanse and purify your skin. I mostly use it as a makeup remover and I have to say, it’s one of the best makeup removers, maybe even the best, that I have ever tried. And trust me, I have tried many so I know what I’m talking about!

The cleanser is very gentle and soft on the skin. It’s delicate but it’s not too delicate. It literally leaves nothing behind, not even a grey cast around the eye area. It literally removes all of your makeup. But that without being very aggressive or drying and I think that’s what makes this product so special and amazing.

Another thing that makes this gel a great product is the scent. You guys, it smells so good! Just like all other products from this range. And even though scent shouldn’t be the most important thing in the world when it comes to skincare products, it does matter to me. I mean, it’s always nice to smell good and since it’s your face and your face is really close to your nose, I think it does add something.

Moving on from that let’s state another big plus about this product. Like I said it’s not drying. With that I mean that it doesn’t make my skin feel tight and in need of a very nourishing cream afterwards. That is a problem I do have with lots of other products and it’s not that nice. I mean I do always use a night cream, but feeling like you desperately need it is a whole different thing than just putting it on because it’s nice.

Lastly I also feel like this product helps with clearing up my skin. I’ve been struggling with a bit of a breakout lately and ever since I started using this product I feel like my skin has been clearing up quite a bit. Even though all other points I have mentioned are very important too, I think this is one of the most important ones for me at the moment.

Overall I’m still in love with this purifying gel and I’m so glad I finally bought a bottle of it. Well three actually. It’s just a great product. Maybe even the best cleansing gel I have ever tried. It smells good, it’s gentle, it’s soap-free, it removes all of your makeup and it has been a great help in the process of clearing up my skin. I absolutely love it and I highly recommend it to anyone with oily or acne-prone skin!

And that sums up everything I wanted to say today. Thank you so much for reading today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it and be sure to let me know which cleanser you use to remove your makeup with at night!

XOXO, Nicole.

Looks like a nice product! If it removes ALL the make-up at once, is always better then cleaning and harming your eye and lashes by rubbing them like 10 times :).
