Quite a while ago I showed you guys I got myself a few new Kiko lipsticks, three of which are from the Ultra Glossy Stylo range. Because of the insane amount of lipsticks I bought over the last few months it took a little longer than expected to properly try them out, but now that I have done that, it’s finally time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about these three lipsticks, keep on reading!
The Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo’s come in pretty basic tubes, just like most of the Kiko products. The packaging is semi-matte black and has silver letters on it. The tubes themselves are pretty long and slim, but in the middle a little bit bigger. I do kinda like the packagings. They look professional and are easy to work with, but, a bit more glamour wouldn’t have been too bad either.
The Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo collection consists out of 21 different colours. I chose three of them. The ones I chose are called 803 Pink Flamingo, 804 Pearly Watermelon and 807 Red Coral.
Let’s start off with 807 Red Coral. Red Coral is, as the name already suggests, a very pretty coral colour. Coral is actually one of my favourite colours ever, so colours like this are always a hit for me. The only thing that keeps me from using colours like this one is that it’s quite bright, and I’m more of a nude lip person.
The great thing about these Ultra Glossy Stylo’s is that they are kind of sheer. Because of this sheerness even colours like this one can be very wearable. I really like that about it because it really allows me to wear whatever I want.
The second colour I got is called 804 Pearly Watermelon. This is a very pretty pink colour with a red undertone and a pearly finish to it. Normally I don’t like any type or form of shimmer/glitter in my lipsticks, but in this case it doesn’t bother me. It’s not very obvious and it actually does add something special to the way this colour looks on the lips.
The great thing about these Ultra Glossy Stylo’s is that they contain SPF 15. For a lip product that’s quite impressive. I really like it when there is SPF in a lip product, because protecting my lips from the sun is something I pretty much always forget. Therefore it’s great if a lipstick contains SPF, you get colour and protection in one. If that isn’t great, I don’t know what is.
The last colour I got is called 803 Pink Flamingo. Pink Flamingo is a very pretty wearable pink colour. It’s the most neutral one out of the three and it’s definitely perfect for everyday wear. I think colours like this one are just an essential for in everyone’s makeup collection. It goes with every look and it’s appropriate for every occasion.
The thing that makes these Ultra Glossy Stylo’s so special is the fact that they have a very pretty wetlook finish. That wetlook finish is not something I have seen a lot before, but it’s definitely something I like. It really adds that glossy look to the lips, which I think is really pretty.
Pigmentation wise these Ultra Glossy Stylo’s are pretty much what I expected. They are kinda sheer, but still add enough colour to the lips in order for you to notice that there is actual colour on the lips. The lipsticks are buildable, so if the sheer look isn’t your thing, you might still be able to like this, it will just take a little more time applying it.
The staying power of the lipsticks however isn’t that great, but to me it’s not a real downside. That because these lipsticks are in fact glossy (and therefore super comfortable to wear), and glossy lipsticks are never really long lasting. However, these lipsticks do stain your lips a tiny little bit, so if the glossy-ness and the colour is gone, there is still a tad bit of colour left on the lips.
Overall I think the Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo’s are really nice. They feel super nice on the lips, they have SPF 15 in them and the colours are absolutely gorgeous. To me these Ultra Glossy Stylo’s are the perfect everyday lip products. I highly recommend them!
The Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo’s are available at Kikocosmetics.com for €4,90.
