On new years 2015 I went shopping with my two best friends in Middelburg (capital of Zeeland). One of the things I bought back then is this set of Invisibobble hair ties. A while later I bought a second set. The thing is, I have never talked about it on my blog, even though I do think they deserve that attention. So today I’m going to review them and let you know if they are really worth the hype. If you’re interested, make sure you keep on reading!
First things first: packaging and pricing. The Invisibobble Traceless Hair Rings come in a teeny tiny box. Inside the box you’ll find three hair rings or hair ties, whatever you like to call it. The box is made out of plastic and looks pretty good to me. It’s not that important cause it’s something you’ll probably throw out right after you take the hair ties out, but still, it’s nice to know that the packaging looks good right?
For one set of 3 you pay about 5 Euros. Some people consider that as quite pricey, but in my opinion that’s really cheap. I wouldn’t pay that price for regular hair ties, but because these are way more durable than regular hair ties, it’s really worth it. These hair rings won’t break or lose elasticity as quickly as regular hair ties, so they’ll last you forever. I’ve been using mine for half a year now and they’re still in the same perfect as they were when I started using them.
The first time I saw these Invisibobbles I thought they looked really weird and kind of ugly. It wasn’t something I’d want to have in my hair all day. I thought it would be really obvious and weird looking. But that isn’t the case at all. The hair tie is made out of a rubbery plastic material and has a bit of a spiral thingy going on.
Because the hair tie is pretty small (there are bigger ones available, but if you have thin hair just go for these) and because they stretch out quite a bit once they’re in your hair you can hardly tell it’s there. Obviously it looks different than a regular hair tie, but it’s not super weird looking.
The great thing about them is that they’re sold in lots of different colours. So if you want it to be the least obvious as possible, just go for a colour that is very close to your own hair colour.
The thing that makes Invisibobble so interesting is that they don’t leave your hair with that strange dent in your hair. If you take these out, whether you’ve worn it for an hour or a day, your hair won’t show it, and I really like that about these hair ties!
Another benefit is that they don’t feel as tight on your head, so if you’re someone who suffers from head aches because of their hair ties, these are a great option for you. They feel a lot less tight and a lot more comfortable.
At first I thought that because they aren’t as tight, they wouldn’t stay in place as well as a regular hair tie, but that’s not true at all. These stay in place just as well as every other hair tie in the universe, but it’s just not as uncomfortable. Good job Invisibobble!
So, is Invisibobble worth the hype? Hell yes! I absolutely love them. Compared to other hair ties they are so much better for your hair and it’s so much more comfortable to wear than a regular hair tie. It’s not as tight, but it does stay in place really well and it doesn’t leave your hair with that annoying dent!
Overall I think the Invisibobble hair ties are pretty much amazing and I’m so glad I decided to give them a try, even though I was a little sceptical at first. I think they’re definitely worth the money and the hype and I highly recommend giving them a try!
The Invisibobble Hair Rings are available at different drugstores and beauty stores and online for €4,99 (per set of 3).
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know if you’re a fan of the Invisibobble Hair Rings too!
