Highlighter Collection

16/04/2016

Highlighter Collection

When I was about 14 (maybe 15) I bought one of my first highlighters ever. It might as well even be my first. Highlighter wasn’t very popular back then, at least not as popular as it is now, so I didn’t care too much about it, but that particular one changed my mind. After that I started collecting more and more highlighters. Today I’m going to show you guys my entire highlighter collection. It’s not crazily big, but there are a few really pretty ones in there. If you’re interested in seeing my collection, make sure you keep on reading!

Highlighter Collection Essence

Let’s start off with three budget ones. All three of them are by Essence and they’re all limited edition. The first one (the one on the left) is from the Christmas collection of 2015. It’s a very pretty golden highlighter which is something I don’t have much of in my collection. I don’t use it as much as I should, but I do really appreciate its existence.

The one in the middle is from the Hello Autumn collection. I like this because of the leaf pattern, but aside from that I don’t think it’s too special. It’s not a product I gravitate towards a lot to be honest.

The one on the right is from the Cinderella collection. This one is very icy and cool toned, which is, again, something very unusual in my collection. I have to admit that I prefer warm toned highlighters, but I do really like the glow this one gives.

Highlighter Collection Essence 2

But that wasn’t it yet for the Essence highlighters. I have three more. This first one is from the Urbaniced collection. I found this for less than a Euro at a German drugstore and bought it. If I’m completely honest I have to say that I have never actually used it, I only swatched it once or twice, but I do think it’s really pretty.

The one in the middle is from the Soo Glow line, which is in the permanent collection. This is one of those cream to powder highlighters and I have to say, I don’t like that texture. I never really gravitate towards this products which resulted in me only using it like once or twice, tops.

The last one is another one I just don’t like. I don’t know from which collection it is, but that doesn’t matter anyway. I bought it because it’s like one of those bouncy products which I thought was really cool, but it just doesn’t do anything. Whatever you do, it just doesn’t give you any glow or colour, nothing.

Highlighter Collection MUA

Onto my two Makeup Academy highlighters. I’ve got a more bronzy one and the normal champagne one. I love them both a lot. I think these are the best budget proof highlighters you can get at the drugstore. I absolutely love the glow they add to your skin and I use them a lot, especially the one on the right. These are absolutely stunning!

Highlighter Collection Makeup Revoltuion

Next up is my Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter. I really don’t appreciate it as much as I should. I hardly ever use it, but when I do I immediately fall in love with it all over again. It does give you that gorgeous glow and I think this shade in particular is really pretty. It’s kind of a hidden gem in my collection.

The one next to that is the I Heart Makeup Highlighting Heart. The main reason why I bought it is because of its adorable packaging. The product itself is okay, but not very special. Compared to some of my favourite highlighters it’s just not that impressive, but it’s definitely not a bad product either.

Highlighter Collection ELF

Onto my four E.L.F. highlighters. The first one is quite a popular one, it’s Gotta Glow. I bought it quite a long time ago and back then I used it a lot, almost every single day. Now that I have a lot more highlighters I don’t gravitate towards it as often, but I still think it’s a very pretty budget highlighter.

The one next to it is one of the E.L.F. Baked Highlighters. I do like the glow it gives to my face, but I don’t like the texture of the product that much. It’s definitely a pretty highlighter, but it’s just not my favourite.

The other two E.L.F. highlighters I own are both liquids. These are my only two liquid highlighters and I have to say I do like them. It’s not as easy to work with as a powder, but it does have something special to it. I don’t use them too often because it just takes a little more time, but when I do, I really like how glowy my cheekbones are.

Highlighter Collection Catrice P2

My last two budget highlighters are by P2 and Catrice. The P2 one doesn’t look too special in the packaging, which is why I neglect it most of the times, but once applied this is a gorgeous piece of work. It gives a very natural but incredible glow in a very unique way. I think it’s really great.

The Catrice highlighter however isn’t like that. It’s not special, not very pretty, it’s ok. It’s not a highlighter I would use on a daily basis because it just doesn’t do enough for me. If you’re into a settle glow you might like it, but it’s just not for me.

Highlighter Collection TBS Too Faced

Onto my more special highlighters. The one on the right is by The Body Shop, it’s their Shimmer Bauble. I absolutely love this. I love the whole highlighting pearls thing, it gives me luxury feeling. And the glow this product gives you, it’s incredible. I actually bought a backup of it just in case I ever run out.

The next one is by Too Faced. It’s their Sweetheart Highlighter. It has heart shaped beads which I think looks absolutely adorable. It doesn’t give you a too heavy glow, it’s a lot more sheer than the The Body Shop one, but I do really like it.

Highlighter Collection MAC

My last two highlighters are both by MAC. The one on the right is the MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle. I bought this a few months ago and I use it almost everyday now. It gives you the worlds prettiest glow and I absolutely love it.

The one right next to was my first ever highlighter. It’s called Blonde and it’s from a very old limited edition. I might love it even better than Soft and Gentle but because it’s limited edition I don’t use it as often.

And that was everything. Those were all of my highlighters. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know which highlighters are your fave!

XOXO, Nicole.
