It has been a pretty long time since I last reviewed a nail polish. Then again, it has been ages since I last wore nail polish as well. I bought this W.I.C. by Herome nail polish about half a year ago when I saw it at the drugstore. It reminded me of my nail polish loving years and how much I loved these W.I.C. polishes. I intended to wear them sooner but it just didn’t happen. About two weeks ago I finally decided to put this one on my fingers and today it’s time for me to FINALLY review it. If you’re interested in finding out more about this polish and whether or not it has made me fall back in love with nail polish again, make sure you continue reading!
The W.I.C. by Herome nail polishes all come in these slim, long bottles. About half of it is made out of glass and filled with nail polish and the other half is black, made out of plastic and functions as a lid. Overall I really like the look of the packaging. It’s pretty straight forward and simple, but I do think it looks elegant and pretty. It’s also very efficient when it comes to storing it so that’s a big plus too.
The W.I.C. nail polishes by Herome are all named after a city (since it’s the World Inspired Colours collection). This one is called Mumbai. Mumbai is a really pretty lilac shade or a pastel purple. It’s a very spring-proof colour which is why I decided to put it on recently. It’s such a fun colour that brightens up your mood.
Having discussed that, let’s move on to why I used to love these Herome nail polishes so much and if I still think the same way about them. Back in the day I used to love these polishes because they were so incredibly easy to work with. They apply so easily. The brush has the perfect shape and the consistency of the polish is just really nice. These two things are still true. The polish works so quick and easy, it’s incredible!
Another reason why I liked these polishes so much is because they have a great staying power. They stay put for almost a week straight. Since my nails are very weak and easily damaged a week is incredible. It’s insane actually. I sadly couldn’t wear this polish for a week since I’m not allow to wear any nail polish at work, but I did manage to keep it on for 3 to 4 days and during those days it looked absolutely stunning. No chipping, no fading, nothing. It looked, and kept looking, absolutely perfect.
Another big plus about this polish is that it’s very opaque. Two thin layers of polish is enough for your nails to end up looking like mine on the swatch. I think that’s impressive. Not all polishes are like that, especially lighter ones aren’t. I also really like the finish of it. On this picture I am wearing a topcoat over top of it, but when worn without one it still has this really pretty and glossy finish which I really, really like.
The last big plus when it comes to this polish is how quick it dries. I was really impressed by that. Nail polish always takes forever to dry, but this one. Nah-ah. It dried within about 1 to 2 hours. At least it was dry enough to go to the toilet, so that’s a big thing right. The only slight downside is that it will keep smelling like nail polish. Even a few days after you’ve applied it. Since that smell isn’t my favourite that is a minor down side for me.
Despite the fact that it is a little smelly, I am in love with this nail polish. I love the colour and I love everything else about it. The quality is just amazing and its staying power is impressive. Yup, this is by far one of the best nail polishes ever and I love it.
And that is everything for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading my first nail polish review in a long time and be sure to let me know what you think of this colour and whether you’re also a fan of this nail polish collection like me!
XOXO, Nicole.
