Back when I went birthday shopping with my best friend I did go a little crazy on the Rituals Body Creams. I really stocked up on them. One of the scents I ended up purchasing is the Touch of Happiness from the Happy Buddha collection. So far I only had the shower oil from this range so it’s a pretty new scent to me. Therefore I was really excited to give it a go. So, I have been trying it for the past couple of weeks and now I do feel like it’s about time for me to speak up about it and let you guys know what I think. So if you’re interested in reading about all that, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Touch of Happiness Body Cream from Rituals is from the Happy Buddha collection, the orange one with the rose gold lids. I have always loved the look of the packaging. I’m not such a big fan of the colour orange, but Rituals managed to make it look really, really good in my opinion. In general I do really like the Rituals packagings. It is a bit bulky considering you only get 200 ml of actual product. But it’s pretty. I like the look of it, I like the colour combination and somehow I do like the fact that it looks pretty big.
Like I said this body cream comes with 200 ml of product. That’s quite decent, but somehow these Rituals body creams don’t last me very long. I don’t know what causes it because it’s not like you need a lot of product per application. But compared to the body butters from The Body Shop, these Rituals body creams just disappear on me.
While looking up the price of this body cream I actually found out that they completely changed the packaging on this. The main colour is still orange, however the whole design is different. It looks way more modern and chic now, but it still is pretty bulky.
Rituals Touch Of Happiness Rich, Nourishing Body Cream 200ml – €17,50
Anyway, let’s start talking about the scent. The name of this product makes it sound like this is going to be a scent that will make you feel happy. And well, it does. I do think that this is a very unique scent in the Rituals collection. It is still very unique and Rituals-y, but it isn’t like the other scents. The top notes in the scent are sweet orange and cedarwood. This makes it a very fresh smelling scent but with a hint of warmth to it.
To be completely honest with you guys, the first time I ever smelled this scent I wasn’t immediately in love with it. It was a long time ago and I just didn’t really love the scent of orange and wood together. Especially the cedarwood kicked me off. However, when growing older I started to love the scent more and more. These days I am a huge fan of it. I do still think that it’s a very specific scent and that this definitely isn’t the scent everybody is going to love. But I’m personally a big fan of it. When you’re shopping for someone else though, this might not be the safest option to go for.
Having said that let’s quickly start talking about the quality of this product. Starting with the quality of the scent. Normally these Rituals Body Cream scents do linger a bit, but not for a very long time. Somehow this one is an exception to that rule. It lingers all day long. I even noticed that when I use this and take a shower the next day, I can still smell the scent of the body cream. How impressive is that?!
But the scent isn’t the only amazing thing about this product. It also has that amazing Rituals-texture. The body cream feels very soft and nourishing. The texture feels whipped. It’s very nice and comfortable to use. It’s easy to spread out and it does sink in to the skin pretty quickly. It makes the skin feel super soft and nourished and it leaves behind a gorgeous scent. Like I said the scent does linger for a very long time, and so does the smooth and nourished feeling. It really does make a difference in my opinion.
In terms of moisturising your body on the long term I think it’s hard to say whether it does that or not. In order to actually find out you should be using this for a while and then use nothing for a while. I didn’t do that since I can’t got without nourishing my body daily, but compared to other body lotions and creams I have I do feel like this product is better. It’s at least better than some of the body lotions I own. If you really need a lot of nourishment I do think that one of the Body Butters from The Body Shop is better for you. But if you have regular nourishing needs, I think this body cream is a-okay.
All in all I do like this Rituals Touch Of Happiness Body Cream a lot. I actually like it way more than I expected. I’m just really impressed by the fact that the scent lingers for so long. I also really love how soft it makes my skin feel and how the scent actually can make me feel a bit happier. It definitely is a scent that isn’t going to work for everyone, but if you do like it, I’m sure you’ll love this product. It’s a great pamper-moment for everyday.
With that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you so much for reading and be sure to let me know which one of the Rituals Body Creams is your favourite!
Where can I buy this please? A shop in Central London or by post to arrive by Friday ?
