Germany Drugstore Haul

25/03/2019

It has definitely been a hot minute since I last did a proper Germany drugstore haul, but today it’s finally time to do one again. Every now and then my mother, my best friend and I go to a couple of stores in Germany to stock up on our favourite goodies. German drugstores are a lot more affordable than Dutch ones are and it’s also a fun little trip to go on with the three of us. This time I didn’t buy as much as I used to, but I did score some great deals and bought a ton of amazing products. So if you’re interested in finding out what I got, make sure you continue reading this post!

Okay let’s start off with something that really impressed me. The Dove Winter Care Limited Edition. I saw a deodorant from Dove saying Winter Care and I was instantly intrigued. So I gave it a sniff and lord, it was amazing. I fell in love. At first I decided to just get one deodorant, but later I ended up getting another one just because it smells so good. Comparing the price of a Dove deodorant in the Netherlands to the price in Germany you’d understand why I got two. This deodorant costed me €1,45 in Germany and costs €4,19 (according to this blogpost on this deo)(and this post as well). That’s almost a €3 difference and in addition to that, this scent isn’t available in the Netherlands anymore.

Because I liked the Winter Care scent so much, I also decided to get myself a shower gel in that scent. I was debating on getting two of those as well, but I didn’t want to go that wild. I have a million shower gels already and I know I’ll never finish two bottles of this. So one would be enough for me. According to the same blog posts as I mentioned before, this shower gel costs €3,79 in the Netherlands. And I paid €1,35 for it in Germany. Not on sale or whatever, just their standard pricing. That’s crazy right?!

While in another drugstore (Rossmann) I came across another Dove shower gel. It was on sale for just 80 cents and it smelled really good. It’s also called Anti-Stress, so that also made a good impression on me. It has a very calm and neutral scent which I like. And I can’t wait to give it a proper try.

Dove Winter Care Deodorant €1,45 – Dove Winter Care Shower gel €1,35 – Dove Anti-Stress Shower Gel €0,80

Moving on to some essentials I like to get when I’m in Germany. First of all I got two packets of makeup q-tips. These are not like regula q-tips. Instead they have a special shape on both ends that works great for removing little makeup errors you might have made. I use these for removing mascara mess-ups and things like that and they work amazing for me. Because I love them so much and I don’t know when I’ll be back, I decided to get two.

I also got a new bottle of hairspray. I sometimes use this when I’m wearing a bun to keep it in place and also when I curl my hair. My hair is very sleek and silky and therefore nothing really holds. Normally I like to go for Wella hair sprays, but this time I decided to go Nivea for once. I ended up buying the Nivea Diamond Shine Hairspray. This particular bottle costs €4,19 at Kruidvat and only €1,85 in Germany. Cra-Zy. I’m telling you.

At the supermarket I also bought a set of toothbrushes. I normally brush my teeth with my electrical toothbrush, but at my boyfriends place I like to use normal ones so I don’t have to carry my electrical toothbrush with me every time. These are from Oral-B and look pretty good to me.

Makeup Q-Tips €0,75 per packet – Nivea Hairspray €1,85 – Oral-B Toothbrush Set €1,45

Then let’s talk about the only makeup product I bought. This is from Essence and that’s pretty mind-blowing from me. It’s not that I don’t like Essence makeup, it’s just that the brand doesn’t really interest me anymore. They don’t have a ton of mind-blowing products and their limited editions haven’t been as interesting as they used to be.

Until I saw this limited edition collection in Germany. It was called the Good Vibes, Good Memories collection and it’s not yet available in the Netherlands. Over here it will launch halfway throughout april. And I can tell you, this collection is worth the watch.

Anyway, I got the Essence Good Vibes Good Memories Baked Blush & Highlighter and I think it’s the most stunning product ever. I think the packaging looks absolutely amazing, I love the little design on the lid. And I also really love the look and shade of the product. It’s pink with a golden shimmer and that’s a combination that works really well for me. I’m definitely going to review this soon!

Essence Good Vibes, Good Memories LE Baked Blush & Highlighter – €3,75

Next up are the things I bought in bulk. First of all my favourite shaving cream. I know it might be weird to have a favourite shaving cream, but I do. This one works really well for me and much, much better than any other shaving cream I have ever tried. And the best thing of all is that it’s super affordable and simple.

It’s the Balea Rasier Schaum (Shaving Cream). It comes in a slim bottle and this time with a really pretty design. More often than not I just get the regular version, which comes in a pink bottle, but this time the limited edition looked really appealing to me. So appealing that I decided to take six bottles with me.

Six does sound like an awful lot and it is. But in my defence, I go through shaving cream rather quick and I don’t know when I’ll be back to pick up more bottles if I need. I just don’t want to be without this product because it works so well for me and therefore I decided to go a bit wild. A bit, because if you’d know what’s coming next, this isn’t as extreme anymore

Balea Shaving Cream Limited Edition – €0,75 per bottle

Okay, so this is going to be the best part of this haul. The Batiste haul. You guys know that I’ve been washing my hair less these days. I’ve actually come down to washing it just twice a week. This means that I do use quite a lot of dry shampoo these days and Batiste is pretty much the only brand that works for me. But in the Netherlands they are crazy expensive. The normal scents are around €5,50 and the tinted one that I love so much is even €6,59. In Germany these bottles costed me just €3,35 per bottle. That’s a really big difference and therefore ur girl went wild. I bought a total of 11 bottles of dry shampoo.

I ended up getting a couple different scents. Starting with one Cherry scented bottle. This is pretty much my favourite scent. Then I got one of the Opulent & Bold scented dry shampoos. Followed by two bottles of the Rose Gold limited edition and two bottles of the Damage Control version. I hadn’t seen that particular type of Batiste dry shampoo before and it looks really promising to me.

Then I decided to get two bottles of the Beautiful Brunette dry shampoos. This one has a brown tint and therefore works really well on my dark hair. And lastly I got three bottles of the Divine Dark version, that’s even darker than the Beautiful Brunette.

I think it’s a pretty sweet haul. I hope this little collection will last me for a while. At least until I go back to Germany to stock up again.

Batiste Dry Shampoo €3,35 – Batiste Damage Control Dry Shampoo €2,95

That was it for the drugstore purchases, but not for this haul. Because I also got some food and some pieces of clothing. The food I won’t discuss because it will probably wel gone by the time I’m taking photos for this post. But the clothing I will discuss.

Near the supermarket we always go to is a C&A. I wanted to go there because I needed a white cami and they have them there made of biological cotton. So we went in and the first thing we saw is that there was 75% off all sale. So before I went to the cami-section of the store, I went over to the sale section. It wasn’t a very wide section anymore, but I actually managed to find two really amazing pieces of clothing.

First of all I got this adorable pink sweater. Normally colours like this wash me out a little, but this one looks pretty okay on me. It’s really soft and I love the shape of the sleeves. It’s exactly what I was looking for the days before we went there and now it was here on sale. The sweater was already marked down to €9,90, but because of the extra 75% it was now only €2,47!

The second item is a really cute jacket. It’s a bit teddy like but it’s shaped like a denim jacket. It was definitely love at first sight. But because I already have a million jackets I wasn’t sure whether or not I should purchase it. So I tried it on and yup, you guessed it, I bought it. This guy was on sale for €19,90, but with the 75% off it was only €4,97. Crazy!!!

Oh and I bought the cami. It’s a white cami made with bio-cotton. It obviously wasn’t on sale but it feels really nice. I’m happy with that as well.

And with that being said we have discussed pretty much everything I bought during my latest shopping trip to Germany. I’m really pleased with the products that I ended up getting and I hope you guys enjoyed reading about it. Be sure to let me know which product you’re most excited about!
